Quote:The Federal Bureau of Investigation, in response to a Freedom of Information Act request, told the Kansan on Wednesday that it has documents related to the University of Kansas and its sponsorship with the Adidas apparel company, but cannot release them due to an ongoing legal investigation.

The presence of documents responsive to the Kansan’s request, filed on Sept. 27, does not necessarily implicate the University in wrongdoing, but appears to contradict what Kansas Athletics officials said after the scandal broke.

They will talk a good game. They will host conferences with all the "best minds" in college sports, but what will change? It will all be window dressing, because whatever happens through this pales in comparison to the billions of dollars that are on the table in future years with the NCAA Tournament.

As predictable as ever...

LOL - Yeah - the FBI has been investigating for 3/4 years now and still under investigation and now the NCAA is going to do a self-investigation in 4/5 months and fix it all. 07-coffee3 The only way they can complete an investigation in 5 months is if they already know what's going on - oh wait... they do.

A few coaches will get in trouble, otherwise carry on, nothing is going to happen to these programs, NCAA making too much money off these programs to do anything about this...The comm. it already a joke formed by NCAA...

RE: OT: College bball fraud & corruption arrest by FBI overnight
The only way to fix it is to take money out of the equation.

If the NCAA is really concerned about academics, it should take all the money it earns from the basketball tournament, etc. and return it equitably to all NCAA universities based on number of sports and number of students.

This money would then go towards #1) paying all athletic scholarships, and #2) if there is money left over, towards non athletic needs-based scholarships. The NCAA would then enforce whether a university used its NCAA share of money appropriately for scholarships.

And by the way, it would be the EXACT same teams which are successful now that would be successful in this new system. The athletic pecking-order would not change. The only real change would be that students would benefit from the popularity of college athletics and not coaches, administrators, etc.
