Pitino's the slimeyest of them all. After all this and the whore-scandal they should get the death penalty.

No your former coach is the slimiest of the slimiest. He has bent rules and committed NCAA violations where ever he has been. Including at Memphis, and it wasn't just with one of the worst PGs in the NBA with Rose.

Well, at least Cal never played the hooker card or banged a woman at a restaurant. Pitino wins slime award.

You sound like a Pitino fan. Maybe you should post on the Cardinals board.

The NCAA's eligibility committee twice cleared Rose to play. And in the one and only time in NCAA history they held a university to a strict liability standard. Hasn't happened before or since.

Just listened to the press conference. Seems there's no criminal charges filed against anyone associated with Louisville but there can still be a major NCAA violation

That you don't know of. Also have you looked at Cal, if I was a hooker I don't know if I would accept money to bang him.

A Louisville fan, HELL NO. Denny Crummy is the reason we weren't invited to CUSA in 97. But that program (basketball) has been as slimy as UK and just as long.

Cal, Pitino, Brown and Pearl all look like what Ive always said about Pat Rielly, a Used Car Salesman. And this is coming from someone who was a Lakers fan when Pat was HC in LA. They will say, do or grant you anything as long as you play for them.

Didn't Pat Riley play his college ball at UK

This is the tip of something much larger...these fat ass high paid people will start to sing like a song bird to get a few months off their sentence. You can also bet this Adidas guy giving out all the money didn't just start once he took his current job. If one shoe company is doing it. The rest are also and he probably honed his skill while at Nike.

Saying nothing to the NCAA can only help. Lying to the NCAA might help you keep your job because things are hard to prove. Saying nothing to the FBI will get you more time and lying to the FBI is a whole new charge. Once they all lawyer up...this gets a lot bigger.

There is one thing the FBI loves more than anything.....high profile names. Asst coaches don't fit that billing. Their bosses do.

The FBI has become a politicized institution at the national level. Probable three year 'show cause' for the assistants and everybody washes their hands of the whole affair.

I'm telling you the IRS will get involved in this and the NCAA won't be able to sweep it under the rug like they did with Alabama. All of these top programs will not tolerate being punished in any way by them. So the P 5 will go their own way. Many of the lower 'hangers on' will be cut back and left out in the cold and we will have semi-pro college sports.

The IRS would only look at the money that has been received (by the coaches, players, etc.) to ensure taxes have been paid on that income. The dollars here aren't that big and the actors have much more to worry about around the corruption and illegality of their actions. The major institutions (i.e. universities) didn't receive any money directly; though there might be an argument having a high sports profile could be monetized, but that would be a stretch.

No, the FBI is the proper federal agency to investigate interstate and/or international corruption charges. The NCAA will simply take a step back and allow the case(s) to unfold.

Pat Forde has said Louisville needs to be given the death penalty. Used to be their beat writer before he got a national gig.

Of course Gary Parrish would never say the same thing about Memphis.

this is one of the best things that could happen for the "Group of 5". this will certainly roll over into football. at the VERY least....some of the payments to these recruits will be fewer and for less amounts.
