Whoa!!! This is big!!! In fairness to Pearl & Auburn, Arizona & Sean Miller got swept up in this too, & Arizona is supposed to be one of the blue bloods in college basketball.

Sounds like there could be upcoming charges to Kentucky & Miami(FL) too!!! A real shame about Miami, because I thought that Larranaga was above cheating.

I think it is Louisville, not UK. Reports that UL paid $100K to Bowen to commit to the Cards.

I suspect these bribes having been going on for awhile funneled through these nonprofit youth leagues. Some of these youth league coaches are shady characters but have the connections in the community to get players and influence them.

The irony of this post from a Mempiss fan is amazing.

Maybe other details have come out, but from what I understand, it was Adidas and an agent funneling money to his family and trying to conceal it from UofL and the NCAA.

Saw this one come across my news feed on my tablet yesterday... figured I'd wait until some more details came out on this one.

Makes you wonder if any of these agents or companies were in Mitchell Robinson's ear and contributed to all of the flip flopping...

With the FBI and DOJ involved I think the NCAA has to be tough. They will have to save face.

RE: OT: College bball fraud & corruption arrest by FBI overnight
Couple of things this reveals.

First, NCAA cases that involve "inappropriate benefits" almost always have illegal/criminal elements to them. Those benefits almost always involve at least one if not more of the following crimes: fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion.

Second, it's just another example of the NCAA's inept enforcement arm. Given what I wrote above, the NCAA should work more closely with law enforcement and start all of their investigations as criminal investigations and then work back off from it if there is none. If the threat of federal prison was more of a risk fewer coaches would take these chances.

Lastly, FBI developed cases that go to the US Attorney have better than a 95% conviction rate. Expect to see a lot of plea deals. And the dude from Adidas is in big trouble.

IRS....this may be the end for the NCAA. Complete collapse to follow.
