Wow you guys are insanely overrating SDSU. They’re nowhere near the level the teams you just mentioned are.

This SDSU would lose to WMU last year.

It's probably true but I don't see SDSU's QB lofting up a couple easy picks like Cardale Jones did against us. I'm sure their defense isn't as good as OSU's was. Or FSU's obviously.

I do think he will surprise SDSU a little with his running ability, which he hasn't done much of so far this year. He will also have to throw accurately or it could be a long game.

I am really really dreading the NIU O vs SDSU D matchup. This is going to be really really really ugly to watch.

But that's what's great about Santa. He showed in the Eastern Michigan game he can carry the load running the ball. He showed in the Kent State, Eastern Illinois, and (one drive) Nebraska he can be productive throwing the ball. He does need to put together a complete game but he can do it. He does have to show he can put the offense on his back and deliver a win. If he doesn't against SDSU, I'm sure he will show that type of ability more often as a junior and consistently as a senior.

RE: Santa is the QB Saturday
SDSU is not unbeatable. We came back down 28 to make it a one score game last year. They lost a lot of production, but still have good production. I don't think they get the big TD runs like they had last year. Our pass rush is a known huge negative factor for an offense and our overall defense is lights out better than last year. I think one of the unheralded parts of our defensive success is the interior D linemen and their ability to keep O linemen engaged to allow the linebackers to run much quicker and more freely to the ball.

I would agree (and really hope) that SDSU isn't on the same level as the OSU and FSU teams we played. Is this year's SDSU better than last year's because they weren't far off from WMU last year. They have beaten 2 P5 teams who have good wins after they lost to SDSU. This seems to be a real good team.

They are a really good team, but to put them on the level of FSU or OSU is insane (and dumb).

Perhaps it would have been better to say; with the exception of FSU and OSU this is the best team we have faced in the last 5 years.

SDSU is beatable but not by playing only one side of the ball. It would take offense, defense, and special teams to all be firing on all cylinders. I think the reason people are down on NIU's chances in this game and why unlike the Nebraska 12-13 pt spread, Id take the opposition in this spread, is because NIU has not shown the capability or willingness to run an offense. Would need all phases to beat SDSU.

They’re a slight step up from the Toledo and WMU NIU’s played (and beaten) for the most part the last 5 years.

I don't know that they're better than USF.

Nah, I think it's pretty much like playing Alabama, they're probably better than Alabama actually. Too bad Coach Carey will play too conservative and there is no point in even playing this game.

One of the main reasons I fear SDSU more than Toledo is their offensive time of possession. The Aztecs are top ten in that department. Toledo is 111th. The last thing I want to see is our defense out there for 38 minutes and our offense with fewer possessions.

On the flip side, limited possessions should keep the game closer against a team you’re supposedly outmanned by.

Or he'll start Graham and Jones and everyone can turn the TV off and enjoy a good night sleep instead of seeing if Santa and Huff can help pull off the upset.

If Graham is started instead of Santa, who will be pissed off more?
This board or SDSU who we assume have prepared for Santa?

Nothing at all against our QBs but I don't think you really have to worry about either of them , especially when coaching does not allow an offense to be run

We are 2-0 with Santa and 0-1 with Graham. No brainer. Also, SDSU would be tickled to face Graham. No deep threat to concern yourself with and less effective runner.

You may not believe this but we get it, you can't stand Coach Carey. So you don't need to say it in literally every football thread that you comment on.

Actually we are 5-0 in the games that Santa has played. Anyone going to give him credit for being a winner?

Wait a minute... Badmoon doesn't think Carey plays the right guys? and he wants Huff and Santa to start? When did he flip flop? 03-lmfao

Just kidding Badmoon - I hope we get to say NIU is 3-1 come Sunday and NIU has a nice balanced offense against SDSU and Santa and Huff get a chance to make plays. 04-cheers
