Basically our AD said F you go to Tulane. It never made complete sense to me why you would go to Tulane for a few more bucks when he could have continued here a probably gotten a top level G5 or even decent P5 job. When you cant get a guaranteed contract after the most successful two years of any move up since the Marshall rules I can see why. Our AD probably just lost the remaining support he had.

I mean there's a legitimate chance that we couldn't compete with Tulane if they were truly interested. It's also possible that Fritz's version of this is slightly different than reality. I'm sure there's some truth in the middleground between this and what we've heard previously.

However, more and more things don't look good for TK as time goes by.

Remember... the contract issues and rumors was going down the week before the Georgia State game.

This guy had zero motivation to stay at Southern when the school was still holding a year-to-year contract over his head. If I was an employment situation like that while performing at a high level, I would jump ship and say to hell with it all.

Well that just confirms what many of us suspected. TK got the puppet he was looking for. The question is, can you fire an AD and coach at the same time?

This was leaked now so I'm assuming it was strategic. Maybe use this leak to can the AD now and try to hire a new AD before the end of the season. Or ... you have Armstrong's former AD on staff now - she could be a good interim while you search for a new AD.

Houston would have been a great hire.

Chadwell probably would have been good too since he would have brought his entire staff with him.

Well when you are working off bad info people are going to get pissed and he did try and take a ton of players which in my book is one of those gray areas where I think it is slimy to poach players from your former team. Most of us were under the impression he just left for money and had a somewhat competitive offer from us...that was not the case. It always did not sit well with me that it was just the money as with another good year or two he was probably going to get a much better job and money than Tulane. TK was still playing mickey mouse games with that initial BS cover his ass contract.

I for one did not want to see him go even after the GaSt loss. It was one game and it meant GaSt making a bowl, I still believe they come in with four wins instead of five its a different game. Most of what you say is taking is BS as everyone was not saying those things. It is dumb to paint an entire fan base with a broad brush.

He could have blasted TK and set the record straight and took the high road to his own detriment with GS fans.

It does not matter TK has shown he would rather have his ego satisfied and "win" a negotiation than keep good coaches. Tulane gave this man SIX years I dont think we had to match the money just be close but not giving him what Tulane was time wise after his first two years was asinine he earned and just put together the highest rated recruiting class in Sun Belt history....

Chadwell probably would have been good too since he would have brought his entire staff with him.

This is one of the most highly underrated things when deciding between a FCS head coach and a FBS coord.

As you can see an FBS coord that was a bad hire and then go and make even worse hires underneath him.

He just go a new multi year contract this year.....unless he quits he is not going anywhere.

AState's previous AD spent three years in the basement of the administration calling former students with delinquent accounts trying to collect or arrange a repayment agreement.

Long contracts are nothing if there is a "other duties as assigned" clause.
