We wish to block RIAA/MPAA access to NCAAbbs. It is up to you, the poster, to vote on if this action should be taken or not. Below are the reasons for this action.
1) The RIAA/MPAA is choosing to devote their resources to target individuals, rather than devoting their resources to creating a feasible distribution method (see iTunes).
2) We do not wish for this website to be used as a resource with which they could utilize user statements or comments against them. We want a free and open discussion of digital music and movies if we so choose. The RIAA has already misused material from TechFocus.com without any permission on their website.
3) Our site is clean. There are no copyrighted items on NCAAbbs which infringe upon any RIAA or MPAA member. We do not wish to have resources we pay for wasted on RIAA/MPAA server scans.
4) I fully agree with this statement from the TechFocus.com admin:
"In a perfect world this wouldn't be an act we'd want to take - but we've had it with the RIAA and MPAA. Their contribution to the internet is stifling programming creativity (see the DMCA, etc), and they are acting in bad faith. As such, they can find their opposition information elsewhere."
5) This is a backlash of the RIAA's witch hunt for users when they take over 70% of all profit from an artist. Who's the real thief here? Webmasters are banding together to block MPAA/RIAA access to their sites, and we support this powerful message.
The block would be on known MPAA/RIAA network ranges ONLY
While MPAA/RIAA member access would not be fully blocked, members would need to get on unknown or private ranges to reach NCAAbbs. This is good enough to stop our server from being wastefully used by MPAA/RIAA scans and enough to provide our members with an extra insular layer of protection from being misquoted or wrongfully accused by the MPAA/RIAA.
If you are a website owner or content creator, e-mail us (support@ncaabbs.com) for a file to block access to the MPAA/RIAA on your site.

I voted no and before everyone gets on me about hear me out. I think they should see how many people are against them and here our opinions if they do stumble across this board or better yert are invited to it. I think it would be better to have an open line of communication with them.
