04-jawdrop I always assumed y'all had both. What programs are carrying that stellar reputation?

They do a lot of nanotech and space ****.

Seriously, if you want to be an astronaut go to Rice.

Not just engineering, physics and chemistry, Rice currently ranks nationally #6 in Psychology, #15 in Economics and #18 in Poly Sci.

Damn good place to go if you are pre-med. Nearly everybody gets accepted.

Just curious Walt, who ranks the PolySci schools, the Democrats or the Republicans?

It's pretty obvious they don't teach reading comprehension skills at La Tech.

clt agrees. They must sit around and enjoy stagnation.

Interesting... I'm surprised Charlotte and ODU rank that low. On the other hand, I'm equally surprised UTSA ranked that high. Good for them. Also, I didn't expect Marshall to be dead last.

I is smart.

It's awesome. If you can improve the quality of the students/alums and increase the number of alums being produced every year, you've got a major win on your hands.

And we are within 500 students of becoming the second largest school in NC by eclipsing UNC-CHeat, so hell yeah I want more students.

Maybe UNCC can become the next Miami-Dade College

Quote:1. Miami Dade College: Miami, FL

Enrollment: 174,000

Cost: $82.78 per credit hour for residents, $331.11 per credit hour for out-of-state students

Best Program: Education isn’t just the biggest department at Miami Dade College. It’s also the best. With over eight different areas of concentration, the education program prepares students for any education-related position they wish to enter. Majors can focus on a specific age, or even learn the skills necessary for educational administrative positions.

Fun Fact: The College manages the annual Miami International Film Festival.
Quick Facts

The first community college established in the U.S. was Joliet Junior College in Illinois.

Community colleges don’t always go by the same name. Some states refer to their schools as city, county, or junior colleges.

All American community colleges offer open enrollment. This means anyone with a high school diploma or GED can enroll.

If it's just a numbers game, please explain to me why Charlotte's football team sucks soooooo bad? And do it s-l-o-w-l-y so all the people with good football teams can understand. 03-lmfao

Don't be a dumbarse. We just showed you the USNWR that essentially ranks Tech and UNCC similarly academically. You sound about 6 years old.

While accounting for 56% of the overall growth in the university system.

Chancellor Dubois recently told alums that the university was within 500 students of passing UNC Chapel Hill.

Quick breakdown (date of enrollment figures, all taken from school websites):

1. NCSU - 32,113 ("Spring 2017")
2. UNC Chapel Hill - 29,469 ("May 2017")
3. UNC Charlotte - "29,000+" ("Spring 2017")
4. ECU - 28,962 ("Fall 2016" - I couldn't find 2017 #s)

All of the above are part of the 17 school UNC system(also includes App State).

I'm glad that the school hasn't sacrificed its admissions profile to grow. It's still very respectable within the system.

Charlotte's class of 2021 had average HS gpas of 3.41 for men and 3.92 for women; 25 average ACT, and 1225 SAT (610 / 615). Comparatively, here are the other schools on that list:

UNCCH - 3.73 / 4.30; 29; 1353 (682 / 671)
NCSU - 3.61 / 4.17; 27; 1300 (656 / 644)
UNCC - 3.41 / 3.92; 25; 1225 (610 / 615)
ECU - 3.37 / 3.92; 24; 1131 (569 / 562)

Just a reminder to all of us guys trash talking each other - the ladies pull all of those numbers up a good deal. Especially the GPAs.

This is a cute benchmark and all, but it’s a pet peeve of mine to rate universities as a whole. I went to FAU for accounting, which is a suit of the university. Our accounting, finance, nursing, oceanic engineering, college of medicine, and mechanical engineering degrees are valued highly. Anything else you might need to consider shopping around. Idk much about FIU outside of them having a world class international business degree.

Accounting Degree - Florida Public Schools

1. FAU/UF
3. UCF
4. FIU/FSU
6. USF
7. UNF
8. FGCU
9. UWF
I’ve never seen a Florida Tech or Polytechnic accounting major, they probably dont even offer it.
