Side bar, if USF and SDSU win out, USF should get the nod with the higher current ranking and a touger opponents coming up.

USF's dreadful schedule continues for about three more weeks, until they play Houston. Then they have two BYEs (UCONN and Tulsa) before they play a good UCF team.

Boise State just got bombed by Virginia on the blue turf in front of a half full stadium. NIU lost at home to Boston freaking College. The Mountain West west division is a dumpster fire. Luckily, SDSU has been standing next to the dumpster but the flames are about to hit.

It's a shame sdsu didn't lose to afa. I really don't see how they'll lose from here out given how terrible their schedule is. Usf should be able to stay ahead of them if both win out but if usf lose anyone else will need a sdsu loss to get the ny6 bowl. A damn shame.

I think you over rating USF remaining schedule. CFP looks at OOC far more than in-conference. They don't reward best conference by G5 champ. It is the Boise rule, don't penalize the team because their conference is not on par. Sounds unfair but that is just the way it is. Much like Marshall was penalized in year 1 of the CFP due to their SOS.

Yep, SDSU looks to be in the driver's seat with their remaining schedule, but anyone can lose with a bad game. It happens, so way too early to say. Although, I can say I see no one else who WILL contend with the AAC for the NY6 outside of SDSU.

No... SDSU isn't in the driver's seat... If anyone other than the AAC gets picked to the NY Bowl is only b/c the AAC gave the spot away.

CFP usually more in tune with coaches poll, not AP. Look at the history.
