RE: Where are all the fans at the S. Florida game?
Here's a thought... it was a Thursday night game in an area where people spent a lot of time away from home or home without power as Irma rolled through... the power is finally back on for most, they've finally cranked up their air conditioning, and the game is FREE on television - so they're staying home watching while they get everything back in order!

This game you guys are joking about having horrible attendance actually had more people there than CUSA's average attendance..

Considering the chaos happening with the weather in Florida and the amount of games that have been canceled, football isn't a priority right now especially against a Temple.

First, we don't have a top 25 team like the AAC does - which should theoretically create additional hype/demand. See UH during the Herman years. If we did also, then you could use that argument.

Second, USF reported ~2,000 more people for the Stony Brook (Stony Brook!) game than the game last night. 26K vs. 24K (of course, there were less butts in the actual seats, since every school lies about their attendance). So basically the same crowd for a game before the hurricane as one after the hurricane. So strike that excuse from the list.

The real story is that people in Tampa do not give two sh!ts about teams that are not UF or FSU.
Did the Leavitt era never happen? For a lot of years and maybe still USF was (is) the startup blueprint.

Do people realize the lower bowl of RJS holds 42k?!? Also willing to bet that USF has more games with over 40k than all of CUSA

"They got such potential". Bull feathers.
Ok so we going to fight about a few thousands fans?

The thing is as I have pointed out it La Tech will never be anything more than they are now.
I don't get how you guy can talk about us when you have played football for 100 years in an area with no competition and yet you get about 24k to games.

Do you ever see potential as something beyond just brining in fans?
USF is bringing potential they should be. They were brought into the big east because people knew they had a the potential of playing good football and they have been a top 25 team the last two years which has brought brining eyeballs to the conference.

What is more valuable to a conference ECU right now who in most years avg really good attendance or USF who is a really good football team?
It doesn't matter if your avg is higher when you have a smaller athletic budget and can never be anything beyond a 8-5 C-USA team.

24k is better than 4-5k

Watching several games today and I think the modern fans stay until their phones are down to 40%. The idea that fans stay to the end is pyrite, fcs, fast power 5 it doesn't matter just ask the NFL in Los Angeles
