Never at this rate. Didn't they announce the master plan 3 years ago now?

After the announcement of the towering Rod Carey statue to be built, would be my guess. :)
In the end, my assumption would be not until the bigger games are consistently a stone throw away from being sold out? I would assume that's the angle any place would have. The only other motive would be to join P5, when a P5 conference is sniffing around said school.

Try to start a stadium expansion thread after a huge win and....nothing.

UPGRADING the east side will be the first project, then we can talk about really expanding the stadium.

I don't think we need larger numbers to expand. We have a number of people that choose to attend. The idea is to convert those die hards to premium seats. If you can't get the attendance up, the next best thing would be to get those that do show to pay a higher premium. If the experience has value, people will pay.

RE: Now that we beat Nebraska...
I got an email yesterday with a picture from the Nebraska game and a link to donate. I'm glad they are pushing the campaign while NIU is trending after the big game. No clue what type of dollars they have in the door so far though or how far off they are from announcing a project.

RE: Now that we beat Nebraska...
I'm not sure I understand donating at this point. The upgraded seats will cost a fortune in seat premiums. While I understand they need money up front to pay for the improvements, will our donations now be met with increased seat premium costs when the upgrades are done? They should have something set up where what you donate now can be used as a credit towards the new premium seats rather than donate now and pay more for seats later.

Only adding the East side premium structure will likely reduce HS capacity ballpark of 100 to 200.
Filling/selling just the new premium seats for 1 game would equal the income of the current HS being sold out for 4 games.
No need to build the South bowl at this time.

Do we need the south bowl to increase seating capacity. Of course not. Do we the south bowl to make HS look a real stadium? Yep.

And how do you know this when we don't know the cost of those new premium seats yet?

I came up with an estimated pricing list that is based on Akron's suite & club pricing, the NIU pricing currently offers with the Chairback cost/donation along with a Coaches Club pass AND the survey that went out a few years back.

The stadium will look WAY better with a bowl in the end zone, alsp a few extra seats could help get the Indiana's and NW's to play at our place :)

Agree it will look way better.
I disagree NIU would be able to get IU or NU to come to DeKalb with only 6500 more seats BUT if that is the case then I am all for building the South Bowl...though I would hope they change the design slightly to not bowl on the West side or build the proposed store.

Just remember that NU had a huge stadium with no fans in the stands. Now that Fitz is there, they fill the place. I would rather have a larger empty stadium that will be filled later than no bowl of the south endzone, no East Side renovation and waiting for the crowds to come before we expand.
Get those donors now that we beat the Huskers. If we have the budget in place and the donors, just move forward with the plan.
