You wouldn't have to contract, just demote teams to the Gatorade League or a higher minor league created for them. Cut the league in third.

The Players' Association would never let it happen though, too many lost jobs and money though you could compromise and just make each of the 20 remaining rosters bigger.

LOL, they like basketball as much as we like soccer. Even American football at least resembles rugby.

I think the NBA is falling for the same trap that has clearly ensnared MLS, when you see owners salivating over what would be $66 Million (per existing team) in expansion fees.

I don't think NBA owners saw players exerting the level of control they currently enjoy today. When I think back to the NBA on NBC days the only major player move I remember is Barkley going to the Suns and Vinnie Johnson to the Pistons. The stockpiling of major talent on one team is the major impediment to parity.

Parity sucks and super teams are way more fun. It's like the 80's again.

I guess it depends on if you are a fan of players or teams. People mock fans of the Hawks but the team for the past 3 years has not had a chance

NBA parity would mean 30 teams with about the talent level, and about as many flaws, as the Nuggets or Trail Blazers. I doubt that would be any more appealing than watching today's NFL where each team has an average of 0.4 quality QBs and 1.3 quality offensive linemen. The sports public is so enthralled by the NFL that the NFL can serve them crap on a biscuit every week and fans will still watch, but the NBA doesn't have that luxury.

The Nuggets biggest flaw is ownership.

To paraphrase Mark Cuban, some owners want to win more than anything else, while other owners want to make money more than anything else. Kroenke is obviously in the latter category.
