We heard a Southaven cop tell someone they sold 30,000 tickets for a venue that is made for around 10,000. I think he was exaggerating a bit, but not by much.

RE: Mem Biz Journal- Council very upset with LB mgmt firm
As well-documented by all of us here - the water was an issue. If you want to buy the hurricane shortage, fine. Then I'll say the overall drinks shortage was an issue. They could have over-compensated with gatorade or BYOB or something. Poor planning and glad that it's getting challenged.

Traffic was just not an issue for me. I got in and out driving and walking with minimal waits for a big game. Compared to Titans, Vols, Rebel Bear Sharks - this was a breeze. We will never have ideal traffic flow because of our location. But this was just not bad - especially considering there were 50k others less than a mile away at CY.

I think they sold about 8-9k tickets for a place that comfortably seat 6-7k.

Good business sense.

LBS management must not have given enough kick back to the council members. Or maybe their private box's AC was not working properly or the concession did not arrive on time.

If there is one group in this region who does NOT have a right to complain about mismanagement it is City Council.

I absolutely knew there would be water problems in the heat. Always has been at the LB. Their management has been horrible for years. They put people's lives at risk.

I'm happy Berlin Boyd & Crooks gave them a good lashing. The City Clownsil has to do SOMETHING. But I am quite certain it's because they have some other firm they want a kickback from.

I think it's not really that but more of the university holding the council's feet to the fire as they are the biggest tenant of the LB. The school can't change the venue mgmt firm but they sure can have the city council publicly criticize them since they have the power to cancel the mgmt firm's contract

And the mayor is a a Memphis alum & huge Tiger fan.

And our two Congressmen as well.

Cohen was there Saturday.

Who cares?

Why didn't you warn everybody since you absolutely knew it was going to happen?

We never have either, but after this game we did. We have a tan lot pass and we sat still for about 30 minutes trying to get to Southern. It's one thing to move slowly, but we were literally not moving at all.

Finally, we got out of that line and wound through the blue lots and got out on Hollywood with no issue. I don't know if there was a wreck or they were only letting people out of the grassy areas out first, or what, but that's the longest I've ever had to wait to get out after a game there.

Nothing tops sitting in the grass at Legion Field after the Birmingham Bowl, though. We sat there for an hour & 1/2. Unreal.

I would have watered up like a camel...had someone just warned me.

I've hiked in and out to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. They make you watch the death to those who don't drink enough water video before entering there.

Now I am totally impressed. I, too, did the hike to the Grand Canyon's bottom, when I was 50, in the June heat. It was 103 at the bottom, and the ground was almost too warm to sleep on.

By far, the hardest physical thing I have ever done in my life. 04-bow

Folks I was at the game, had plenty of water, a coke and a pup, a line getting in, but it moved well, parked at CBU lot and had no problem getting back to the Peabody.
I'm gonna give u Dudes some advice, never attend a Redskin home game, if u don't leave by the start of 4th quarter it might take an hour to get out the parking lot, then u sit, in traffic for another hour to make a journey that normally takes 20 minutes. U Dudes don't know what traf,is until you've been n D.C. Rush hour. The water situation was a problem, but if more of u got off yo ass and attended games I'm sure they'd figure out that curve ball. I just hope TOM had plenty of water and his A.C. was cranked up
I still can't believe 50plusK didn't go to this game, Remember we want to join a P5 conference, impress recruits and have a happy coaching staff

I was there. Have driven in DC rush hour in traffic too and drive through traffic in San Francisco once each year. It's bumper to bumper from SFO to Petaluma 40 miles away.

It took us 30 minutes to leave the stadium and get to my car. I parked behind the Coliseum in the gold lot. We sat at the car and drink a beer and waited 45 minutes until the line moved enough for me to get out of my parking space and go the opposite direction toward Tiger lane where I stopped F199 with my gang for a continued post game celebration.

We stayed until the end. Waited on Strat to deliver one of his guitars to him sat in Pink Lot maybe 15 min., attendants directed me to turn right across Tiger Lane and out to Central, Pkwy and Sam Cooper.
