Very complimentary. I enjoyed my first visit back to campus and the game after 47 years. First time on campus since 1969! More thoughts on that later...

I saw a lot of UCLA fans at Cooper-Young fest after the game...between downtown and CY-Fest the UCLA folks should have PLENTY of events to take in around the city.

Add this to another reason why we should be playing these OOC games. Actually two per year would be great, one at home & one away.

They mentioned the zoo but not the greensward? How dare them... I wonder if they parked on the grass...

good Lord, talk about an agenda.

as I have already told you one is geared towards tourists while one is geared towards locals...that doesn't mean locals can't enjoy the zoo and tourists can't enjoy the greensward...but something doesn't have to rake in cash and tourists to be a useful public asset.

I mean, water treatment plats don't attract tourists...but I'm still glad we have em.

I was on a plane to Atlanta Monday am and as I boarded, there was a dude in UCLA gear sitting in his seat. I asked him if he enjoyed the game, and his reply.."Not really".
I said, "Come on...it was an exciting game...". His reply.."Not really".

I just smiled and went back to my seat in steerage.

We need to find a couple of schools willing to do that. But they won't be from California given their boycott of "evil" states:
  • Alabama
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • North Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Texas

Nice writeup. Glad to see they had a good trip. We take our hometown for granted sometimes. Memphis really is a pretty special place

You're just upset Tennessee didn't have the balls to do them first.

Memphis usually returns class with class. The Bruins fans earned the friendly treatment they received with their own classy behavior.

I talked to quite a few on the way back. They were very complimentary-- except the water issue was mentioned as something they were incredulous over. One guy was still hurting with the loss and had four Vodka Tonics in two hours. lmao.

But I really felt sad for an older fellow. He had flown from Oregon to see his grandson, and his grandson got hurt in the game, he said.

Someone on their board seems to think TOM lives on campus.

I'm still enjoying the nice lady who asked, "When does the humidity stop?" Me: "Never." Her, "No, really. October? November???" Me: "Maybe November or December, when it starts snowing." lmao

Many of our G5 opponents brought just as many fans as UCLA. I was a little disappointed in their turnout because it was listed as the alumni travel game this year. I thought there would be much more of them. I will give them credit, much more than some other P5 teams and much more gracious than any of the local $EC team fans usually are. I think there is a rule that the closer you are to Memphis, the less hospitable you are to Tiger fans. ole miss fans are probably the worst, but ut, MTSU and Arkansas State fans all seem to be highly obnoxious as well.

The UCLA fans that joined our tailgate were extremely nice. They were also very knowledgeable about our team and had a lot to say about the game that turned out to be true.

There were a lot of ucla fans at the Peabody for various events, as I said earlier they were very classy before and after the game and at the airport. . A couple of them told me Memphis has a great airport it must really help in recruiting.
We all know what helps in recruiting is playing P5 programs and it really helps if u beat them.Athletic dept please stop scheduling weak ooc schools and play any P5 that will play us. Unfortunately we're not in the position to demand home and home at this point. Maybe coach Fuente would do a home and home and it would be nice to play Arizona st and or Arizona. Drop n.Texas now and work on playing Baylor
