I was very impressed with our win over UCLA. The team responded as a ...TEAM at critical moments. There is clearly a strong bond among both players and coaches. Given our injuries on Defense, I was pleasantly surprised how well our 2 and 3 deep played. Depth could be the rate limiter on how we perform this year. I'd be curious to outline who we've lost for the season (vs an occasional game). Please help me fill this in:
OFFENSE
WR - Sam Craft (starter)

DEFENSE
DE - Jackson Dillon (starter)
LB - Darian Porter (2-deep)
DT - Jared Gentry (starter)

The rotation cornerback, Tim Gordon, also out for the year.

Seems the right place to ask, what's the story on Doroland Dorceus?

I got sick of hearing about UCLA's injury woes with nothing said about Memphis.

It makes this effort even more meaningful in my mind. Ready for the rest of this season.

Think it's his hamstring. Was upgraded to probable last week, but guess they are being cautious.

He was in sweats and his jersey on the sideline, seem to be moving around fine. Hopefully we see him vs. UCF in two weeks. We could have used him late vs. UCLA for some of those between the tackle runs.

Our young guys that had to fill some of those voids played REALLY well last Saturday. Our depth is impressive

I think the fact that we won AFTER sustaining these injuries & Wilson's 1st half suspension makes it that much more special and telling regarding the overall improvement in the program over the last 5 years.

Are we missing anyone else. I do recall we should get DB Green back for this week's game vs SIU.

Watched the game on dvr Sunday morning. They mentioned UCLA's defensive injuries over and over again, even commented on the player that was suspended for the first half. Unless I missed it, I never once heard them say anything about the exact same thing for our team.

Oh well.

I was impressed by how the coaches seemed to keep the defense relaxed and having fun after the half, at times leading the dancing. I saw a team bond and a confidence that we were going to win that was amazing this early in the season.

Are OL Roger Joseph and DB Shaun Rupert lost for year? I noticed DB Tito Windham did not play today. We are getting way too thin in the secondary!!!

Rupert was laying some major hits before he got hurt. I didn't think his injury was that bad.

Joseph wasn't putting weight on his leg.

I'm trying to figure out why Tony pollard was pulled out on the last kickoff return.

It definitely has an effect. Both the offense and defense came out looking MUCH better.

In the past, a major injury... or even a turnover, seemed to derail the team for a while. They would lose focus and things would snowball. Love how this coaching staff keeps the team focused and playing through adversity. Will give Fuente's staff credit as they did a very good job as well, but these coaches are very special.
