RE: What UNT fans are saying vs UAB
This one scares the hell out of me. I have immense faith in Coach Clark, but....a young team on the road for a conference game with inconsistent special teams and Oline play. I'm hopeful but scared. May be one of those where if we win its a nail biter, if we lose its 21 pts

RE: What UNT fans are saying vs UAB
This game is a toss up at best. The NT team may blow the game wide open, we may win by 2 td...or it could be a nail biter....the 2 teams are similar in that both need this game for future growth.
I suspect the team that is composed the will win it, I hope sooner or later the red shirts get it....and start to play like upper class-men who realize time is short for them, the clock is ticking and winning isn't the only option.
My gold and green glasses tell me the score will be 30-28 UAB..

RE: What UNT fans are saying vs UAB
We are going to need the best game we've seen to date out of our Defense to beat UNT. We need our Defensive front getting pressure and their hands up quickly to cut down the quick passes of Mason Fine. Fine has a sprained knee and a brace as of today, so maybe his mobility will still be limited on Saturday. SMU got 5 sacks in their game against UNT in 52+ passing plays, while Iowa only got one in 30+ PP. Iowa looks to have fairly dominated the second half. I suspect the Hawkeyes had a lot going for them, being at home and being a BCS school. Fine is not a big guy, 5'11' & 180. Fine's size and possibly limited mobility could pose a problem with his two tackles being 6'9" & 6'7". Our Defensive front has got to pressure Fine & keep containment on the RBs, you know, the easy stuff every D coordinator wants.

UNT can run, or at least ran well against Lamar. Though Lamar's lone win this year was against UT-Permian Basin, so I don't know if that nugget worth anything.

UNT can give up the points and yards on D. Iowa ran very well for 238, but that is Iowa's perpetual strong suit. Stanley, Iowa's QB also had a solid day against UNT in his second career start. That happens when your running game is going. And Hicks for SMU threw for 312 and 4 TDs (all to Courtland Sutton) against the Mean Green. UNT pretty well stuffed SMU's running game outside of one 47 yard run for a TD.

Our defense is improving from game to game, but I don't think it's going to be enough to keep us out of a shootout. I think this one will turn out like the Ball St. game, hopefully without the Special Teams mistakes on our part. I hope we can keep it close, hopefully forcing Fine into throwing a pick or two and win the turnover battle. If that happens I think we can get our first road win. That's a lot of IFs.

Blazers 35-31 if we win the TO battle. UNT 35-21 if we don't.

I follow Lamar. Almost went there. They are beyond terrible I am sad to say. Alabama A&M would blow them out by 5 touchdowns minimum.

That was sweet. They are not very good in basketball these days. Even the Montange Center needs a make over but it's a great venue but too big for them.

If someone could get their picture made wearing a Lamar b-ball shirt, sitting in a gold seat at LF, holding a saxophone and a pic of George Teague... oh man that'd be epic.

That was a team that went 2-10 the year before. That was also a team that lacked the overall depth we have now. It remains to be seen how many pro's are on this squad.

This is also North Texas. Not Texas. We may lose but I doubt we will lose to the tune of one person I saw that said 94-0. If we go down I suspect it will be somewhere around the point spread but don't be shocked if we have a chance to win late.
