RE: UTSA at TXST game thread
(09-22-2017 06:16 PM)Free bird Wrote:  No, it's not worthy to me because TXST and UTSA are not even in the same conference. Both conferences are at the bottom out of all conferences, but Sunbelt is dead last. https://athlonsports.com/college-footbal...r-rankings
Only one team will benefit from the win. If UIW had a rivalry with TXST, TXST will most likely win every time which does nothing for them. But at some point if UIW wins, it makes TXST look bad and UIW gets hyped up.
Same thing if UTSA has a Rivalry with Houston. Houston most likely would have won this year and if that was the case, then it would mean nothing to them but a W and maybe a bit of revenge. But the year UTSA beat them, UTSA was over hyped and didn't do much that season while UH looked bad that game but went in to have a winning season.
So now if UTSA beats TXST it won't really mean anything because it doesn't count as a conference W and it doesn't count for anything beating a dead last team in a dead last conference. Now if TXST wins, their fans will start talking about how they will win conference this year but still end up with a losing season. We already started to see a little bit of that after close margin App game.
Cross conference rivalries are just not my ideal rivalry. I'd prefer UNT, UTEP, or la tech over TXST. At least a W would get us closer to a division win and thus means more to the team instead of an OOC bottom 25 win.
You might want to check last years conference standings.

I mean when your flagship is UT I would hope it is.

I would expect so too considering you guys are affiliated with Sul Ross, Sam Houston and Gary Job Corps.

At least our athletic programs don't play in Dump Facilities . . .

You guys have to rent a football facility . . .

Your baseball and basketball Facilities are garbage, why don't you pull out your tin cup and see if you can beg for some facility funds from your mothership campus . .

You stumped me with the facilities thing. Herp U does have better facilities.

Someone, in every system, has to lead. It just happens to be TXST in this system (cue TT to poke his head in on that response and tell me what for).
You think every UT satellite was (or is) special?

Lamar was "FBS/DI" before you guys even had a school, they just happened to drop football then came back as FCS.

How many other campuses does UTSA have?

We even get to pick our own school colors without a dictate.

Does Texas State really lead those other campuses? I believe y'all are all peers.

There are three teams in Texas that play in a domed stadium, the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans, and the UTSA Roadrunners. :)

You guys should try to develop rivalries with schools you can beat every once in a while. I'm thinking Abilene Christian and San Angelo State.

This is the best UTSA team ever. It's better than any team TXST has ever had.

Sure, you just keep believing that. Ask GS about 2005. Oh, that's right, you don't know anything about football history before 2010. Otherwise, you would know that's an ignorant statement.

Not peers. TXST is in the same classification as UTSA (Carnegie Tier 2 Doctorate and TX emerging research university). That, in no way, makes them peers of TXST.

Or UH, Ohio, Southern Miss, Wyoming

No thanks.

I actually have rooted for UTSA against P5s but I think that just went out the window because of all of your ignorant remarks.

I don't think my remarks are ignorant. I honestly think you guys can beat Abilene Christian about half the time. And, if you can't, San Angelo State plays at an even lower level.

I root for you guys when you are playing out of state teams, and I hope a Texas team wins every conference possible every year, but not this week. :)

Still posting false information regularly? If Donald knew who you were and what you did, he probably would be tweeting about you.

We all know there is no flagship in the TSUS

Get over it and go back to reporting on Colin Firth.

Texas A&M is your flagship university. That's why you guys have to have maroon and white as your colors.
