nUTSAck is the closest thing we have to a true rival. The one year we shared a conference was the best and there was some good trash talk. Game should have a large crowd and hopefully a sellout. First time hosting the birds in San Marcos. They have a good team but I predict an upset.

I went and saw them against Baylor. Their QB will be a nightmare for us and we won't be able to cover their big receivers one on one. They'll try to slice through us on play action. Our run D should be able to keep play action from being viable though.

Their defense will be tough to overcome but if we can establish the run like we did against Colorado I think we can hit some big passes later in the 1st quarter assuming we don't let them in the backfield as often as we did App.

What is this based on, though? Being 6-7 last year, beating an HBCU and a team that lost to Liberty and Duke?

Maybe they will beat Texas State handily but there isn't much evidence that they're some dominant team.

Based on stats, both teams have a good defenses. The offense may be the key to winning which UTSA seems to have the advantage. But I thought that the App St offense would be better than UTSAs and TXST shut that down. I think it'll be a good game.

Offensively UTSA brings a senior QB who is a dual threat option that just does not make mistakes. Currently Dalton Sturm is 34-42 (81%) with 6 TDs and no picks. He also has 130 yards rushing and a TD in (2) games.

Defensively, the Roadrunners are one of the best in nation right now in yards per play. Saw a tweet from Phil Steele listing UTSA as #6 with 3.6 yards/play allowed. Sure we have only played Baylor and a FCS school but UTSA held Baylor under 275 yards of total offense in Waco (Liberty -532, Duke - 320) The entire second half of the Southern game was played by 2nd and 3td teamers after going up 48-0 at half and only allowing 40 yards of total offense.

I'm not calling this game yet for one team or another but just stating that UTSA's best team yet is coming to San Marcos
