Come on App. Not sure I have ever heard you guys brow beating yourselves this much. Especially after the confidence in preseason. I hope you take it to Wake!

Apparently without preseason projections, Wake would be in the top 5 of S&P+.

That's not good for App.

I agree that Wake has looked good, but come on...Presbyterian, Boston College, and Utah State. You have an FCS team and two bottom feeders of their respective conferences. I'm not ready to crown their ass. They aren't who you think they are and we're not going to let them off the hook.

If you believe this game is a toss up you haven't been paying attention to Wake Forest the first few weeks of the season. The line would more appropriately be -13 or so for Wake given the way their defense is playing this year, coupled with App's lack of firepower on offense.

This will be a defensive game but eventually Wake will likely pull away.
Thats why this game is a toss up, i got a feeling Wake will be expecting to roll, while our boys are probably gonna be hyper focused on this game. I think we are the trap just like texas state was for us

We have a history with Weak Forest. I was a Senior in 1975 when we went to play them the first time and BEAT them with a last second FG by a guy named Gary Davis.

Through our FCS years we still played and Beat Weak Forest at their field on a number of occasions, including 3 of the last five times we played them. Scott Satterfield was QB of the team that beat Weak Forest in 1995 on the way to the program"s undefeated regular season.

Wake will get a rude and kick @ss welcome to The Rock Saturday. I call for a 3-7 point win by the REAL Black and Gold.

Hyper focused would be nice but then again, we all expected that against Miami.

Dave Clausen was the Head Coach at Richmond when Armanti torched them to the tune of 313 rushing yard, 186 passing yards, and 7 Total TD's, and was also the coach during Armanti's 6 interception performance in the quarterfinals. I highly doubt Wake Forest will be overlooking App in any way, shape, or form on Saturday.

Texas State was likely a multitude of causes, including App now having a target, an improved Texas State squad (held Colorado to 2.2 yards per carry the week before), and the heat. However, I don't believe it was because App was overlooking them.

Boston College has a solid defensive team, they just don't have the offense to compliment it. App would likely be in a similar situation if they were in the AAC or MWC, but they aren't. The offense is adequate while the defense is stifling. Boston College doesn't have that luxury considering that they are in the ACC.

Am I ready to crown Wake Forest? No. But I have watched each of their games this year and that defense is for real, and their offense will likely be able to pull away because of their defensive play.

Eric if you think Miami and Wake are equivalent even this better form of Wake, then you may need to recalibrate brother, huge talent dif. Between Miami and Wake, I don't think this game is anything like that one

No gloom and doom from this App Fan. Wake has traveled a really easy road so far. They have wins over 1-2 Presbyterian who beat non scholarship Campbell & lost to Citadel 48-7. Beat 1-2 BC, who slipped by N Illinois 23-20 before losing big to ND. Beat 1-2 Utah St who lost big to Wisconsin 59-10 and beat FCS Idaho State. App has played the more difficult schedule. Savannah State is better than PC, Texas State is better than Utah State and Georgia is far better than BC. Personally I'm thrilled Wake has been thumping people. They haven't been hit like they're going to get hit Saturday and they haven't played in an environment this season nearly as hostile.

But they blew them out....its not like they just squeaked by them (as usual and like they did some games last year). Just saying App St better not think this is the Wake Forest of old. They are a bit better than last year.

Did you watch the you BC - Notre Dame game or the Wake Forest - Notre Dame game? Literally the only thing keeping BC from being a winning team is their defense. Watching Wake, they have a stingy defense, going back to last season, with an offense that is adequate.

App hasn't shown anything this year on offense to make me believe that they will fare any better than BC did. All things equal, App is probably on BC's level in terms of level of play, while there is still an obvious talent difference. The difference in this game for App will be made during the week. The offense better improve to levels seen the past two seasons or this could be another 3 score loss.

I wish you had read and commented on the entirety of my post and not the first sentence. I'm not going to compare the talent difference between Miami and Wake Forest, but it may only be the difference between a 35 point loss and a 21 point loss.

Wake is a solid team that plays good, complimentary football. If you think it requires them beating Clemson to even be compared to Apps tough schedule so far, you may need to recalibrate. App is likely on the playing level of Boston College, and that would likely be a close game. It will take moving some chess pieces around to make the offense effective. Something has got to change up front to get the running backs going again as the only time they've had room to run has been against SSU.

I'm not doom and glooming right now, just being realistic about the situation. Wake has improved year over year since Clausen got there and are likely going to be bowling with the potential for a few surprises in the ACC.

Sadly, that seems to be the case. I'm not sure App is much better than Boston College, and I know the offenses are likely on the same level. If Boston College had an offense to compliment their defense, they would be a tough out for anyone. Wake is able to play that complimentary style that App has had the past two seasons and have yet to see this season.

The loss of Collmar and Parker Collins has hurt more than any App fans care to admit.

Unless we improve the offense I don't see us winning.

And yes hurry up offenses give our D issues usually.

Do hope Meadors and Evans are back. But not sure it will help much with it being their first game.

Sure hope our team doesn't believe like you do, Half of winning is believing you can win. I've never seen so many app fans on this board believing before a game we will lose, its pathetic.
I don't think Wake will blow us out at all, I think they will overlook us and our fans will be in full effect, which will help feed our teams energy.

Meadors and Evans play = opening up the playbook, opening the box, better rushing offense, better rested defense = a big win for app. Even if they aren't specifically making plays, just having them out there as a threat helps our cause.

When we beat Wake on Black Saturday, we will essentially end their bowl aspirations for this season... they probably lose the next 5 games on their schedule, so that would leave them having to win at Syracuse, at home against NCSU, then at home against what looks like a pretty good Duke team to end the season...
