Miss State is legit #2 team in SEC.

Geez dude.....LA Tech just beat 2-time defending CUSA champion WKU @ WKU. That was the first time any CUSA team had won a football game in Bowling Green since Reconstruction. And you act like we suck or something.

Meanwhile UTSA has really played no one, but you think they are deserving to be atop CUSA? You need to get a reality check. False modesty is as bad as being an arrogant fan.
So all the talk everyone was saying before the game about how bad both teams are and how they don't look like championship teams, all of a sudden is forgotten? If that was the consensus, then why now is Latech the team to beat? Latech beat a mediocre CUSA team by 1 point during the last seconds of the game. They were never controlling the game and could have easily lost.
I get that UTSA has only played 2 games. Southern, a team they were supposed to destroy, which they did and the starters held them to zero points and 40 total yards before coming out. That game was a sure win, but also a bit impressive on defense.
And Playing at Baylor, as 15 point underdogs, shaking off the rust on their first game (Baylors 2nd), and holding them to 10 points (3 if not for a muffed punt return) and 274 total yards. Last week (33) Duke gave up more yards and more points to them while only putting up 7 more points and 55 more yards than UTSA. Also playing at Duke. After 3 weeks, maybe, just maybe Baylor isn't bottom of the barrel but instead were just outplayed by better teams. BTW, Liberty, UTSA, and Duke are all still undeafeated teams right now. Just another lense to look through.

Everyone is down on their team after a bad loss. MSU was a bad game, we had 4 turnovers to their one and a blocked punt for a TD. We pretty much played a game like that against USM in 2015 late in the season with some of our best athletes in the game making mistakes. Was that one game an accurate description of the team's skill? No. MSU has now beaten LSU in a dominating fashion. We've just beaten WKU at WKU. WKU will be fine, I'm confident LaTech will be fine. Offense showed improvement overall in ball security and production against a decent team (yes WKU is still decent), their offense is struggling but the defense has kept all opponents under 25 points, admirable enough. The Baylor that LU, Duke, and UTSA played will likely be PRAYING that they can beat Kansas just to get a win. I'm not going to say its aweful win, its great, Im just saying its DEFINITELY a game you should have won in hindsight.

UTSA is good enough, I'm sure. But right now we simply just don't know how good most of our teams are.

This is the same UTSA team that went 6-6 last year. Their schedule this year is a pretty easy one. With the two wins they already have, they may get to eight wins with potential wins against Texas State, North Texas, Rice, UTEP, FIU and UAB -- but, frankly, I'm not convinced the games against Texas State, North Texas and UAB are necessarily sure wins. Then from my perspective, they have potential losses coming up against Southern Miss, Marshall and LA Tech. I believe it would not be surprising for UTSA finish up with anywhere from five to eight wins.

So, when it comes to the West, as of now, I see LA Tech as the leader, with (in order) USM, UTSA, North Texas and UAB as potential challengers and Rice and UTEP bringing up the rear. I'll be glad to revisit this after week six.

You want to be the prettiest newbie in the conference. I get it. I felt the same way last year when ODU was getting all the attention.

Nah, the Monarchs are not very pretty this year -- yet. The first two games were really lackluster wins over an FCS and winless UMass. UNC curbstomped us, and Wilder went to our freshman QB, Steve Williams, for the second half. Next is No. 13 VT. After that, we thankfully have a bye week to get ready for conference play. At this point, I really believe ODU could wind up anywhere from not being bowl eligible to competing strongly for the East title. Just have to hide and watch. By the way, Williams did look pretty good and threw for two TDs in the second half.

So -- my comments on the Runners had nothing to do with ODU. I just truly do not see a reason for UTSA to be getting all the adoration at this point.

I am just calling it like I see it. WKU wasn't that strong and you can't hang your hat on their past. J'Mar and the WR have to be more consistent before I start my chest thumping.

If our OL stays healthy the run game improves, we'll climb a few spots on that list. Our D is very solid right now.

WKU's last CUSA home loss was to UAB in 2014

I think we are all way overrating Miss State. We played very poorly and if you take away some of our boneheaded mistakes that game would have been pretty close. They beat a LSU team that was obviously way over rated. Granted they are probably one of the top teams in the west because the west is down this year. We will see, but they were much more impressive against LSU than us.

Pretty close ?

Score was 57-14 after 3 quarters

After 3 weeks, it looks like a lot of mediocrity and like there could be a lot of close games throughout the season.

I'm also reminded of what JoePa (before all the mess happened in what was at one time known as Happy Valley) once said..."You are not as good as your best win, and you are not as bad as your worst loss." The truth about your team is somewhere in the middle.

I mean I've seen you make comments about how UTSA "eeked" out a win at Baylor, which is false if you saw the game or take a look at the boxscore. It also makes no sense to say it's the same team as last year. This isn't the pros. A year of growth for the players and another year under a coach who was a first-year guy last year is a big deal. Baylor is far from the juggernaut they've been the past few years but they just lost by 14 on the road to a Duke team that received Top 25 votes. UTSA won by 7 in Waco.

Im not saying UTSA should be crowned already but you're definitely coming off a little disrespectful towards them, imo.

I can't wait to see them next week vs. USM. I think that game will answer a lot of questions about both teams.

This I consider a knee jerk reaction and a bad decision. The last time I seen a redshirt pulled that I hated was by Mark Snyder in 2009 when he pulled the redshirt off Aaron Dobson in the frickin' 8th game of the season against UAB.

How much ODU football do you watch or have you watched this season?

It wasn't a knee jerk reaction. Our coach realized we can't win real games with the two QBs he had, so it's time for the freshman to play and see what he can do. He played better than the other two and therefore will be the starter for the remainder of the season assuming he keeps playing like he did.

The other two QBs weren't moving the needle in 2.5 games. I don't think that makes it knee jerk.

Always a slugfest/bloodbath when UTSA and LaTech play. Kinda wish both teams still had Tristin Wade and Kenneth Dixon
