RE: Hunt TD
Quote from ESPN writer Dan Graziano in article on what has been learned from the first two weeks.

Quote:I talked to a couple of scouts about Hunt and they agree that he's an excellent runner. But they want to see whether the Chiefs trust him in pass protection in games in which they fall behind and have to throw to catch up. .

How do you get these scout/writer gigs? Or would that quote constitute lack of confidence if the Chief's decision making, not Hunt's ability and willingness to pass protect?

Any of the supposed experts in the sports media who questioned Hunt's ability to play in the NFL because of "weak" competition in the MAC, should be forced to make public apologies.

Probably the same experts that questioned Michael Turner's "weak" schedule in college.

If I recall correctly, Turner had a pretty slow start to his career.

Chiefs are on record as saying pass blocking is a concern but that he was making lots of progress. Let's hope he continues on a fast curve before they find themselves needing to pass in a come-from-behind situation. Although, the first game was a pretty good display of confidence in every aspect of his game, given theumber of downs he played on the road against defending champs.

RE: Hunt TD
If the live stats are right at NFL.com, Kareem has 172 yards on 17 carries - 10 yards per rush! Oh, and a catch for 11 yards too.

NFL Red Zone just reported he is the 1st player in NFL history to have TDs of >50 yards in each of his 1st 3 games. Wow.

Remember when he was too slow for the NFL and couldn't hit the home run? Yeah, sure, yeah.

Don't know if this link will work for everyone, but 3 Kareem highlights here, the TD, plus 2 20 yard runs. Had another run where he made a bunch of players miss early in the game.

I haven't seen hunt run like this since the bowl game vs Arkansas state. Most of his senior year he'd turn his back at first contact and leg press his way to a first down.

He played behind Ladanian Tomlinson in SD, but did well in his limited carries. Hardly a slow start.

right, he had a total of 439 yards rushing in his first 2 years. I guess I see that as a slow start but you don't. Doesn't matter if he was a back-up or not - I'm commenting on his start and not putting an asterisk next to it so it can be explained by some NIU fan. It was similar to the slow start Chester Taylor had with 398 yards in his first 2 years - and he was a back up to Jamal Lewis. So what.

RE: Hunt TD
Not sure which Hunt thread to post in anymore, but...

Kareem now has 401 rushing yards on 47 carries (133.7 yards per game, 8.5 yards per carry) and 4 rushing TDs. He also has 9 catches for 137 yards and 2 TDs - 6 TDs total.

That makes him:
#1 in rushing yards (#2 trails him by 113 yards)
#1 in yards per carry (for anyone with more than 7 carries). In fact, the next RB with at least 30 carries is Demarco Murry at 5.3 yards per carry.
#1 in 1st downs rushing with 16 (so, 1 out of 3 runs results in a 1st down)
#1 in number of 20+ yard rushes with 5
#1 in number of 40+ yard rushes with 3
T1 in number of TDs with 6
#2 in the longest rush at 69 yards
#2 in the longest reception at 78 yards

I know it's only been 3 games, but this is fun. Don't know how much longer this will last, but what a great ride he is on right now.

Since the knee incident, probably exposed to pressure from the his veteran teammates, he took the knee. Maybe I can understand, but I will not be following his career as I started to do so, prior to this NFL thing disrespecting the flag.

To his credit or my weakness, I had started to show interest in the pro league again but yes, like yours, it's gone. Don't really want to spoil this thread for those excited about his accomplishments. I think that's fair. There's a thread for my concerns, this isn't it.
