NYD Bowl 2017
I figured now would be the time to start a 2017 NYD Bowl thread.
CBS Sports has come out with their predictions as of today.
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...years-six/
Lot of football left be played, so these obviously do not matter right now, but it is fun to talk about. I doubt that anyone will go undefeated.
Here is how I see it regarding teams that have a chance (some are stretches for sure, see CSU):
AAC
Memphis
USF
Navy
Houston
UCF
SMU
MW
SDSU
Boise State
Air Force
Colorado State
MAC
Toledo
Northern Illinois
Eastern Michigan
Ohio
CUSA
UTSA
La Tech
Marshall
Sun Belt
Appalachian State
Troy
Arkansas State

csu was blown out twice....how are they still in anything...
i dont think temple is good enough to win it, but they still have a way higher chance than colorado state ..
they were recently just good and losing to ND doesnt eliminate anyone
im not even ready to eliminate tulsa either, they need help but ther schedule is set up that they could potentially play, top 25 houston, top 25 memphis, top 25 usf, navy and top 25 usf again (but need the those teams to remain good) ..playing the AAC west will give them a chance..seeing how the Toledo game was so close

RE: NYD Bowl 2017
Sdsu looks like the biggest threat with wins over Arizona state and a (shouldn't have been) ranked Stanford team.
Winner of aac or Sdsu.
USF Memphis and Sdsu should all be ranked right now(i know they prob won't all be). Short of aac champion having 2 losses I think we should still get it.

SDSU does. They may actually be the favorite after last night. Memphis will have to go undefeated, which the AAC West doesn't make easy.

I said CSU was a stretch. If you eliminate CSU, you eliminate Tulsa.
Fair enough regarding Temple. Maybe the fact that I have watched both of their wins, and they looked horrible in winning (not a lot of talent), is making me remove them.

Toledo says hello.
At the end of the day, the committee picks between five championship teams.
It is very, very early, but right now, SDSU is in the drivers seat.

Beating ranked AAC teams won't help Tulsa against unbeaten schools from other conferences, because as soon as Tulsa beats them, they will drop from the rankings and won't be ranked any more. The CFP isn't going to be impressed by what AAC teams do in-conference, just as they won't be impressed by what MWC teams do in-conference.
The only real currency with the CFP is winning big OOC games.

HAHAH!. Statistics tell you otherwise. They also tell you that this "G4" thing is a figment of your imagination

Well, if you call the 2014, and 2016 Access Bowl Births, cherry picking. Sure. The AAC has a 33% success rate, just as the MAC and MW does. Look at the bright side, we are all doing better than the CUSA and the Sun Belt.

RE: NYD Bowl 2017
I think for now we can focus our attention on the undefeated teams. Here's how I think things stack up.
SDSU 3-0 (Wins against ASU and Stanford) 2 P5 scalps have the Aztecs looking like the early front runner.
Memphis 2-0 (Beat UCLA) Not sure how this win will hold up perception wise but it was certainly a fun game to watch.
USF 2-0 (Beat Illinois) Coming into the year we all knew the Bulls non-conf slate was pretty bare but as long as they keep winning they deserve consideration.
UH 2-0 (Beat Arizona) Not flashy but the defense looks strong.
UTSA 2-0 (Beat Baylor) The Baylor win may not amount to much by the end of the year but they did officially go undefeated in non-conf, so props.
Toledo 3-0 (Plays Miami next week) So far the Rockets are taking care of business against lesser competition but if they really want to turn heads they need to beat Miami.
Navy 2-0 They haven't looked great but they haven't looked bad.
EMU 2-0 (Beat Rutgers) Maybe in time the Rutgers win will carry more weight but for now I put it on par with beating Kansas.
UCF 1-0 They've had one blow out win and two wash outs. I believe the Knights have the potential to compete for a bid but I simply haven't seen enough from them to place them higher.
