The UCLA/Stanford game this week will help determine whose win was more impressive, Memphis's or SDST. If UCLA wins, which I believe that they are the better team (UCLA 5th in passing to Stanford's 157th), then Memphis's win clearly is the better of the two games.
I hope those that do the voting actually make that connection. Cuz that's a great point.
Voters are too busy remembering last year when Christian McCaffery lifted Stanford up to such a high level. They forget that he is no longer on the team and was not replaced with a player at such a high level.
What are you talking about? Stanford has been great before McCaffery.
2010 - 12-1
2011 - 11-2
2012 - 12-2
2013 - 11-3
2014 - 8-5 (McCaffrey's FR year, barely played)
2015 - 12-2
2016 - 10-3
Stanford was actually worse overall when he was there.
Yet, none of the kids playing on this year's team played on the teams prior to McCaffery's freshmen year.
Besides, Stanford did have a superstar in Andrew Luck that played on some of those teams. Is the well getting dry with superstars or will it continue now that those guys have moved on?
So what is your overall point bringing old teams with runner up Heisman Trophy contenders? Again, those guys aren't there.

Stanford has lost to a Top 5 team and a Top 25 team. I would say they have played quite the schedule. It will be interesting to see what they do against UCLA at Home this weekend.

Perhaps Pitt should be ranked since they lost to 2 top 6 teams in PSU and OKST. Maybe BYU should be ranked since they lost to 3 top 25 teams. I could even add Fresno State who lost two 7 teams. I see how it works now. They must be good teams because they lost to good teams.
