Why would you think that they would score less against us at home than they did at ECU?

Because our defense is better than ECU? Im less optimistic it's not a blow put after today but I'm also encouraged to see the next guys up after some new names today

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

EZU is a cluster F both offensively and defensively.

It seemed to me the oline picked up considerably once Williams came in, at least he had some time to throw. I think he's a natural leader and the team responded to him. I think we lose, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't make a much better showing next week and manage to win quite a few conference games.

Big difference when a Team cant put 8 guys in box. Williams makes them pay for no safety help.

My guess VT 60, ODU 14. I hope it isn't that bad, but I think VT is going to have to pile it on in order to move up in the rankings. They will have to outperform UNC just to keep their current position.

I root for both of these schools. Kinda torn on this one.

RE: VT game discussion
Lane Stadium is a whole other world. ODU's team and its fans are about to have one hell of an experience next week. I hope that Malone can shed some light on that for the team since he spent his playing days there. My hopes are that ODU can put some points on the board, stay injury free, and learn about game time atmosphere.

Outperform UNC? UNC already has two losses, to Cal and Louisville...

Let's see.

Best RB out.
Best WR out.
Porous O-Line.
A 17 year old freshman QB making his first start on the road at the #16 team in the country.

What could possibly go wrong?

If we keep the margin under 40 and Williams is able to walk off of the field at the end of the game, it will be a success.

I think it is a fair line. With that said I'm taking VT. UNC's offense and defense is nothing like VT. We do need to teach Williams to get down and avoid hits or he will be missing games in the future.

She showed that he can competently slide as he did on the scramble up the middle going towards the suites. I'm more concerned with him being able to feel the pressure as the pocket breaks down and protect himself rather than when he is running down field. That being said, I too don't want to see him injured for any reason.

Lose by less than 25 and no significant injuries = big win for us this Saturday.

Normally I go into specifics; stats and matchups. No need this time.

Gone are the days when some VT teams were so sluggish on offense that a bad call or an advantageous bounce could put a team in the lead, and almost anyone could then win.
However, there MAY be a glimmer of hope, as far as being competitive anyway.

VT could and IMO should have lost the WVU game. In any event WVU piled up 500 yards against the Hokies.
VT played Delaware about like I would have expected us to.
There are no conclusions to be made from the ECU game. The Pirates are just that bad.

Having said all that, VT 59, ODU 17

Agree and I think we will. VT has every reason in the world to be looking past us.

The positive my wife said "at least the scenery outside of the stadium is going to be pretty" this is a lady that holds 4 degrees from ODU and has taught at ODU but brought home a fall door wreath after closer inspection I found out it has VT logos on the little bow ties 03-banghead 03-banghead 03-banghead 03-banghead
