CMU / Syracuse Game Thread
Since the main CMU board appears to be inaccessible for now.

FWIW, Desmond Howard just picked us to upset Syracuse.

Anyone who sits next to Lee Corso, can't be too bright.

It looks like we brought the week 1 offense today. 03-banghead

Forced fumble by the D and a TD strike by the O on 3rd & 8! 02-13-banana

Pick six for Syracuse. We missed Willis on that play (receiver bobbled the pass and popped it up for grabs). 01-lauramac2

17-24 at halftime. Stats are pretty even. Field position has been more in Syracuse's favor and is the main reason they're ahead.

Syracuse just got away with a blatant hold on a long run. It looks like everyone but the Orange, the officials included, just want the game over.

And now our best WR that isn't injured drops a first-down catch. 03-banghead The heads just aren't in the game today.

And now Ross fumbles at the goal line for a touchback instead of a TD. Just one of those days, I guess.

This is probably what we are going to get this year. One game we look good, the next game they look like they are completely lost on what the game plan is.

I didn't have very high hopes for this season anyways. So anything above 4 wins is a bonus to me. And they are already half way to that number with 2 wins. I could see them getting to 6 wins and being bowl eligible, but that's about it. (And of course the annual beat down in whatever bowl they end up at...)

I saw this game as a loss before the season, and missing 2/3 of our starting wideouts, then losing Cole during the game (not sure what his injury was) made the prospect of winning even tougher. It's clear we're still learning the offense, as well. However, we need players to be more focused. Hessbrook and Chapman dropped passes that would have gone for first downs today, and Ross's fumble was just a lack of awareness.

I suspect we will play better at home next week against Miami.

I'm tired of these Jekyll and Hyde performances! Why these coaches can't get on the same page is beyond me. Especially special teams. For chris sakes, Bono, that was supposed to be your forte!!! In to year three and you still don't have a handle on it!03-banghead
