What did I miss?

I don't know for sure what is in shere's mind, but I have a heavy suspicion it has to do with the 1973 NCAA championship game. Bill Walton wore us out.

Well so much for memphis having the biggest win of the week. SDSU just beat #19 Stanford.

Yeah but we didn't rush the field. P6 can at least act like they've been there before.

SDSU and Boise must be stopped.
Both could battle for the NY6.

Its looking like the ny6 drought could continue for the aac. But boise already lost to the only quality P5 team they play this year, and they have to play sdsu in sdsu. So that will resolve itself in a way.

Yes sdsu moves into a threatening spot. However a undefeated memphis and usf aac championship is a strong possibility now. Such a match up would make any other teams irrelevant for the ny6.

We also have the possibility of an undefeated houston and ucf, aac championship game that would do the same.

Any stumbles though and sdsu could snatch the spot. They're the only really viable threat to the aac this year. Unless we totally eat our own in conference play.

DID YOU KNOW?
The Memphis Tigers have not lost a non-conference game on their home turf since 2013! That season opened with a 28-14 loss to Duke, as part of a 3-9 finish under then head coach Justin Fuente. That streak now includes wins over Ole Miss and UCLA.

Imho, while beating UCLA and Stanford is great, whoever wins the AAC championship will have had far more quality wins in-conference than the MWC winner and will be ranked accordingly.

Beating UCLA on ABC blows away beating Stanford on CBSSN.

One game got 3M+ viewers. The other 200K.

In order for perception to become reality, you have to be perceived.

just saw the highlights, very nice upset Memphis pulled off! The blue Bengals helmets look great, reminds me a lot of Bengali from Thundercats from back in the day

Yes, Stanford and UCLA are quality wins, but my point was that the CFP will look at more than those two and the AAC in-conference games involve better teams than the MWC with the opportunity for more quality wins.

As far as perception goes--ESPN's power ranking this morning has SDSU at 18 with Memphis at 24. Probably a result of our middling game against ULM.

I would say more of a espn doesn't standardize. Stanford is ok at best, i expect them to be right above arizona when its done in the pac. Ucla, usc, and colorado will compete to play washington for the championship. Too many teams missrd games next week and week 5 will really sort this out.
