Hoping for continued improvement on defense. I was impressed in some of the improvement last week, but the defense looks like they are always one shoestring tackle away from disaster and the secondary got caught cheating in more than once last week. If the D isn't ready this week, it could get messy. Tulsa 48 Toledo 27.

Yeah, TD on the first offensive play was a good indicator we weren't ready. And games are four quarters long so I assumed he was talking about the entire game not just the first few drives. 54-24=30.

as opposed to the field length of penalties by your measure also showed "we" weren't ready? Two tipped passes, one interception, personal foul penalities, leaving in a QB that just got rocked,....

Yeah, real "ready."

Only time will tell but I expect Tulsa to get better as the season continues. They lost even more than we did on offense and seem to have replaced it nicely. I'd like to think we beat a very capable team but if those coaches went into the locker room after the game with your belief that the team was ready to play at the beginning, this game or the two previous, I'd doubt their sanity. Good recruiters. Good player development. Lots to work on.
