I know that was meant to be a dig but every GS fan just said "good idea"

From our board it is not a 900K buy out he is just guaranteed to continue to get paid. It is already down to 700K. If he gets a new job then we just owe him the difference if there is any...we know there will be as he aint getting another HC job ever again.

Honestly knowing that I have no idea what we are waiting on? Maybe the AD needs just a little bit more ammo to make it look legit. If it does not happen after 7 losses then he is riding it out to the end of the season.
Sometimes its best just to wait until the end of the season to avoid any ill will from the coaching fraternity.

Did not hurt USM...Also going from a typical FCS salary to even a low paying FBS job is usually has an affect on folk's feelings and memories.

Since you don't know how the candidate pool changed and don't know if they expressed interest in candidates who said no thanks, you can't know if it hurt or didn't hurt USM. That's just speculation as to if it hurt or did not hurt.

They were in the CUSA title game in year two, that was my point. I really dont think coaches are really turning down jobs because the previous horrible head coach got fired a few months early. It is not like we are firing a coach with a winning record or that took over a dumpster fire. We coming off a losing season that got worse as the years went along, got blown out with 78 yards of offense and just got manhandled by UNH. Each situation is different coaches I believe can see how that is not acceptable with the athletes GS has and especially had last year.
