Memphis-UCF game Rescheduled for Sept 30th
John Martin is a sports analyst on the local ESPN radio station in Memphis. He is also a Memphis alum with some connections at the school.

John Martin @JohnMartin929
Hearing that there is a mutual desire to get Memphis-UCF rescheduled, most likely for Sept. 30 weekend. Buyout obstacles loom, though.

RE: Memphis-UCF game reschedule being discussed?
So this possibility was discussed here earlier. It would involve Memphis buying out Ga State, and UCF buying out Maine.

It wouldn't add a total game back to anybody's season, but we would each be swapping an OOC game for a big conference game.

Hearing UCF really wanted to play this game and is using the AAC to push Memphis's hand. Good on the Knights.

Memphis-UCF game reschedule being discussed?
Well better to lose a non conference game than a conference one. It still would be good if ucf could get the gt game rescheduled too.

The buy out gives hope. Maybe thursday before championship game if neither is playing in theirs, or maybe after, ala army/navy.

obviously this involves your schools spending some dough to make it happen so its not easy but I really hope they do it. This game would mean a lot more for you both than Ga State (sorry Panama) and Maine. I was really looking forward to this one. Hope it happens.

Sept. 30....I may even attend this one if its in Memphis

They are talking about Sept. 30. We are scheduled to play at Ga State in Atlanta, and UCF is scheduled to play Maine at home.

Aresco has already said the AAC CCG wouldn't be rescheduled, and there is no guarantee that one of us wouldn't still be in the race that late.

It's our biggest OOC home opponent this year and only the second game in the stadium. But I say cancel the series then. Screw it.

RE: Memphis-UCF game reschedule being discussed?
It might be better for conference perception to take the two OOC wins instead of the conference game, which guarantees a 1-1 outcome for the AAC.

Assuming the conference will pay for these buyouts. Anyone know how that's handled?

We handed Ga State and Maine $100 and now we are good. Seriously why doesn't Maine just play Ga State.

Georgia State would probably rather have Memphis than Maine to get fans into the new stadium.

A. Maine is a flagship.
B. People love a flagship.
C. Give the people (Georgia State's 1 fan) what they want.

You're welcome.

So why do we want a home game with Maine that will draw flies? Seriously.

Could schedule a sure win vs. UConn since we are talking NE flagships playing football poorly.

Hard to argue any game as a sure win after losing your FCS opener.

Over/under 5K at your next home game?

I think you are agonizing prematurely, lol. I would be surprised if it gets done.
