Hey guys, there are a number of reschedules, not just Mem-UCF. I heard the AAC is paying, so whoever said Aresco is likely correct.

The closures were for "normal" campus operations. It didn't say anything about holding a football game, so our admin was still preparing to play. In fact, our administration was surprised when they were informed by the AAC (not even Memphis themselves) that the game would be cancelled. Memphis used the closure as an excuse. The campus closure was not keeping the game from happening.

No other games were played in FL. Our admin says it came from the governor's office, not them. Why would we fly our team down, and send our equipment truck down, THEN cancel and turn around, THEN reschedule it a week later?

That makes no damn sense. Don't always believe everything you hear.

But it is total Bull5h!t, and it's pissing me off, because you say this 5hit enough times and someone is going to believe it. The facts are that the game was BARRED from occurring BY THE GOVERNOR OF FLORIDA. If we didn't want to play the game, we wouldn't have wasted the jet fuel to fly down there in the first place.

Not totally accurate. Conference took a percentage of the entry and exit fee swag from all the turnover. Plus, conference can mean member schools, not just the HQ.

Conference also takes a percentage of all revenue.

No one is fishing; they know the truth very well. Memphis has/had no authority to cancel a UCF game in Orlando. Only UCF and the conference can do that. Discussion over. The kids just like to throw smoke screens.

Very serious comment:
In the end, I am very thankful that the hurricane came and left the Orlando area with most of the area safe and thankful that the area is in a position to deem this game an important topic rather than the loss of lives and thousands in Orlando being flooded out of their home and being homeless. We should all be humble and thankful that we are in a position to think that a football game and the date it's played on is important. We could all have a lot worse things to be concerned about. All of us should be very thankful rather than bitter.
