Bye Bye Heart of Dallas - Hello Armed Forces Bowl
yep - CUSA gets Armed Forces Bowl and Big Ten gets Heart of Dallas Bowl now. Pathetic, but that's what this conference is all about.

Can't have any P5 vs. G5 bowls, now can we?

Why do we bend over backwards to give up our better bowl games for worse ones? But whatever, it's not like MT plays in bowl games in the continental 48 anyway.

RE: Bye Bye Heart of Dallas - Hello Armed Forces Bowl
Once the P5 pushes the G5 out of all the head to head matchups in bowls, it will set the stage to let their bowl games be part of the actual playoff. Leaving out the G5 bowls of course. At that point they will say, well, you have your bowls.. make your own playoff. At which point their evil plan to create their own division without leaving the NCAA will be complete.

Can the schools sue CUSA? They should. They seriously should just dissolve it entirely. The schools get $200k a year now. think about that?! $200k a year form the conference tv contract. it cost teams more to be in CUSA (when you account for travel) than the amount of money they collect / benefit from CUSA. its a fraud and a farce! Sue Judy, sue the conference, quit the conference and nobody pays any exit fees. do this at the conclusion of the football season. or hell....do it tonight.

RE: Bye Bye Heart of Dallas - Hello Armed Forces Bowl
the bowl site just shows us in the 2017 matchup with Army, not after this season.

Below are the slated Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl match ups for the next three seasons.
2017 Season - Army vs. Conference USA
2018 Season - American Athletic Conference vs. Big 12 Conference
2019 Season - Mountain West Conference vs. Big Ten Conference

Great suggestion Reggie. Which team (s) is going to be better off? Who will find a conference other than the Sun Belt?

Not a bad idea. Especially if you consider that we could all agree in principal to play each other anyway without the fees associated with paying Judy for doing nothing. At least it would save us some money. The biggest issue is that we wouldn't have access to bowls or an NCAA outbid. That is the only advantage to staying and surely we would all be able to land somewhere with a D1 basketball outbid. When there was money, TV exposure and good bowls it was worth it. Now... not so much.

Of course we would have access to bowls. Cusa would dissolve. The bowls invite who they want. And who cares anyway? Its not like the schools are making much money on the crap bowls anyway. Certainly not getting any exposure. Just being made fun ok

The only sensible answer to any of this is a reshuffle. If the AAC doesn't want to be a part of it, so be it. Tighter geography will make the conferences more efficient resulting in financial savings. It would also make the conference more appealing to regional TV (yes actual television) stations. Playing schools more recognizable to the local populations would increase ticket sales and regional press. CUSA just isn't worth the scraps of money or the headache. And this coming from a newbie. I can't imagine how sick So. Miss, UAB feel. I've got nothing but respect for every team in CUSA but is a band of necessity and desperation. It doesn't make sense any more. And if we're a one bid league, Id just as soon be in one with some of the regionally appealing SB teams.

I'd rather play Army than the 14th place Big 12 team

Not on board with this. Rising tides lift all boats. That's what is supposed to happen, but in this conference its more like a life raft and there are too many hanging on dragging us all under the water.

There is a very clear demarcation line of the top half of this conference that is truly committed (and knows how) to compete in both football and basketball at a high level. Start there. Add three or four more teams and leave this train wreck of a conference behind.

Seems like we have this same conversation every three months.

So where is the line drawn and who's your choice for 3-4 teams?

The core is pretty obvious. The other three or four would be harder to pick.

As said on the USM forum... I think we know where this is going, and stupid Judy (yes, I've defended her in the past, but not this time)... walked right into this.

Other than outlier's when G5 contracts with bowls are up... they're gonna say , Nope, we want a P5 vs. P5 matchup.

And then they'll start working toward that mythical championship that doesn't exist using the various P5 bowls to get their.

Well the joke is on the Big10 if they swapped to get away from playing a G5 school in a bowl game. The Big 12 hasn't put a team in the HOD since the 2012 season.
