Louisiana- Monroe Warhawks
What would Stink do?
Vegas odds
Southern Miss by 6.5
Over/Under 57

How would you bet this one?

My pick, Southern Miss by 13
Over/Under: under 57

If there's one thing I've learned in 3 decades of being disappointed and/or surprised by Southern Miss is to NEVER bet on them. There was a time in the early 90s when they were a great bet. One year they covered the vast majority of the games. But crap, in the last decade we'll lose games we're favored to win by double digits.

If I HAD to bet....I'd absolutely without question take USM. But I know I'd be setting myself up for disappointment.

If there were no chance of overtime, I would feel pretty good about the under. I would hope that our guys would be able to handle ULM comfortably, but, as Hop would say, 'the reality of it is' I'm expecting a close win.

Stink should bet the farm on USM -6.5. id leave the over/under alone.

and he should tell me where he bets, so i can do the same.

yep.....first overtime game was fsu against whoever....lost it in OT

my plays to date.....

I got roasted (was able to middle to some extent - took usm at the half) taking ky jello.....lost 350 on that one....

didn't play the southern game.....

not playing this one either....don't have a feel on it based on too many other's opinions and the eye test.....

I don't know squadoosh about ULM.....

I'm taking the fan approach on this one.....just win the damn game!

Road games in lifeless stadiums have not been kind to us in the past.

As a ULM fan, if I was forced to put money on it I would pick USM because you guys have had an extra game. I do think if you win it will be under 10 points, but if you really think we are another Southern you will steamroll, then I think you will be surprised. I think ULM and USM are very similar talent wise teams, but to me the advantage for USM is that you have played an extra game and you have mainly upperclassmen and ULM only has 8 seniors on the team. The advantage ULM has is playing at home. Should be interesting game.

Welcome to the Perch take a seat, kick back, and have a beer. Believe most in this thread have given ULM props throughout the thread. Mostly upperclassmen? Uh naw dude, replaced QB- O Line - Secondary. Should be a good game, ULM gave Memphis all it wanted and then some. Question becomes fluke or really that good. History suggest fluke but each year a team has a cinderella season. As some have said, this game has TTT written all over it.

One issue is if we get up by 2 TDs, Hop will likely put Howard in as QB because he is still saying they are competing.

He needs to change positions and double as an emergency QB. As in 3rd-string. He's pretty much Anthony Alford except he turns the ball over more often.

I'll tell you how the game will go if follows normal ULM pattern. We will play very close the first half. Then you guys will get about a 20 point lead in the 3rd right after halftime. Then we will come storming back, make it a game, but come up just short.

Close game/toss-up in my opinion.

At home we win by 2 touchdowns. On the road I think this is a toss-up.

RE: Louisiana- Monroe Warhawks
The game with Memphis wasn't as close as the score indicated. Memphis was up 37-14 at start of 4th quarter. ULM scored 2 TD's in last 13 minutes to make it closer. Memphis had two RB's go for over 131 yds. Henderson 12-169 2TD's and Taylor 15-131-1 TD in a monsoon. ULM turned the ball over 4 times, 1 int. lost 3 of 6 fumbles. Memphis had 1 turnover on fumble. Memphis had 27 players on defense that registered some kind of play i.e. tackle, assist, int., fumble recovery, td etc. Not saying this is gonna be a blowout but we can't really garner much about ULM on the score of the Memphis game and how "close" it was. I mean ULM had a time of possession margin of 37+ minutes to 22+ minutes and out gained Memphis by only 9 yds. Memphis ran for 319 yds. averaging 8.2 yds. per carry. Stats like those will make your head hurt.

Southernbirds, spot on analysis thanks for sharing. Hopefully I'm wrong but believe this will be a close one. TTT forces are all around
