Enquirer Documentary: Heroin Epidemic

I know people love to trash local media, especially the enquirer, but this is a very well done documentary about the heroin problem in our communities. It's changes the perspective seeing the places I live and work in something like this, even weirder seeing people that I actually know. It's worth a half hour.

It's a terrible epidemic. I deal with a ton of heroin cases every year. A have a couple clients who have gotten clean and been clean for a year+ who I keep hoping every day can stick with it. The temptation and physical need to go back eventually gets so many people... even those who fight it so well for so long.

That was a terrific piece by the Enquirer, and remarkably heartbreaking. As Mark said, this is a drug epidemic like we've never seen. Crack cocaine in the late 80s and 90s tore apart African-American communities (particularly the horrible drug policy related to it), but it didn't kill nor cause addiction on the level that heroin does. And, the addiction to heroin and related opiates seems to cut across society.
