I think TXST is just getting started. We had a decent crowd at Colorado (which is nearly 1000 miles but most flew) from what I could tell. (someone posted a video on Twitter so anyone that was there would need to verify if my assumption is correct or not).
We travel well to anywhere in TX - which can be 35 miles or nearly 600 (UTEP)

GS traveled well to TXST. Waiting to see what App brings.

I think a lot has to do with distance/expense.

I was there. A conservative estimate would be 500. Not bad for how bad the team was last year and we were expected to get smoked. My friends and I all thought it was much better than expected.

Me and 2 friends tossed around the idea of going but one of them pussied out when we were like okay let's get plane tickets..... I'd have loved to make the trip

Obviously NMSU and Idaho don't travel, but they sort of have an excuse.

My lead guess just based on what I've seen is Jonesboro is Georgia State, but that may be our own fans simple disinterest in the series.

Me plus 3 will be there. My first trip to San Marcos. Looking forward to checking things out.

Sadly a good portion of our traveling fanbase depends solely upon the opponent. We had twice as many at Boise St than we will have at NMSU. We will have twice as many at LSU as we will at Jonesboro.

AState fans travel to ULM in good numbers pretty much no matter what but it is such an easy trip for AState people in the Little Rock area and south.

Outside of that best we did was 2011 at MTSU when we were playing to clinch on an overcast occasional drizzle day.

It will probably be more like 5x as many Troy fans at LSU than Ark St. I've got my road tickets for LSU and Georgia St. I am hoping that my work schedule will work out for me to make it to Ark St (have made the trip once before)

Georgia Southern/State, South Al and App State all traveled pretty well to Troy. I did think USA would've brought more, though (our last game in Troy was possibly on a Thursday night). Hate our game this year with USA is on a Wednesday night, i am sure that will cut down on quite a few travelers. Hopefully they will have a large student contingent come up like Troy sent down last year.

RE: Fan base traveling?
Our traveling party this year will be thin, especially after our horrid offensive output.

I don't believe App or Troy will see our customary away-game numbers .... App due to the mid-week matchup and Troy due to the strong possibility that we'll be 0-6 at that point.

How do SBC fanbases usually do when traveling to P5 games. I know GS has sold out their ticket allotment to most of our recent ones. NCST (2014), GT (2014), UGA (2015), GT (2016), Auburn (2017)

For us, probably way better than SBC games. I've never travelled to any away game and probably won't until UTSA next year, if that counts, so I have no idea how well we travel other than a few crowd shots. What does the Bobcat group look like when we play at all of y'alls places?

Distance from Statesboro:
NCST - 339 miles
GT - 207 miles
UGA - 80 miles
GT - 207 miles
Auburn - 240 miles

This must be nice!

Out of curiosity I looked at the distance to our p5 games since we moved up.

TX Tech - 389 miles
Illinois - 1,064
FSU - 868
Arkansas - 537
Colorado - 1,014

I will admit that traveling to P5's that you grew up watching is pretty fun. But it is also fun to roll into a conference game and tout your team at tailgates/restaurants. At most p5's they just roll their eyes.

Traveling with your team, no matter where it is, is a great experience!

We have taken thousands to closer teams like Houston and SMU. At least we have Baylor and A&M coming up.

I feel like we travel better than the average SBC team. And if we are playing a P5 program we bring pretty big numbers.

Also our band travels atleast a pep band to most games.

I prefer the conference and G5 travels over the P5 games any day.
