It's a pretty small sample size for quite a few stats, but a few things are pretty clear. You are going to run. We are going to pass. Neither team looks likely to stop the other.

The over is 70 points? Hmmm!

Last year, we were evenly balanced even though it has felt like we were more of a passing team. In game 1, we were forced to run more due to heavy rains. We got a good qb (3700 yards/32 touchdown/10 interceptions last year) and a bunch of good receivers led by a really quiet young man named anthony miller.

RE: Tigers UCLA by the Numbers
Our secondary, even with the injuries, is the strength of our defense, and we defend the pass MUCH better than we defend the run. If I were you, I would run the ball, until we show we can stop it.

We seem reluctant to stack the box against the run or to blitz a lot.

But then a lot of coaches seem determined to run a balanced attack, no matter what the defense is doing. Norvell seems smarter than that, but we'll have to see. Coaches are stubborn.

They also play at Stanford next week and could be looking past us and focusing on Pac 12 opener.

West coast team with an 11am central kickoff. Maybe they will start slow. I'll take any edge we can get.

After mxBruin's comment that the ucla secondary was the strength of the defense, i thought the walk-on did pretty well. Anthony Miller just needs to loosen up more and have some fun when he's out there.
