Exclamation Week 2 Attendance
Sun Belt had a good week for attendance. Could have been fantastic had Miami played against StAte:

Alabama State @ Troy - 29,278
Oklahoma State @ USA - 26,487
Savannah State @ App State - 20,109
UNLV @ Idaho - 10,156

I'm not including the Georgia Southern game that was played in Birmingham.

Can't blame them ofc, wish I wasn't seeing y'all go, App attendance was unimpressive since it was a pretty day, guessin some fans were still hungover from the Georgia loss or somethin.

Yeah, probably looking at <10k for the rest of the year unless they seriously turn it around.

I think it had more to do with the opponent and the hurricane. A lot of folks were anticipating the hurricane hitting the GA, SC, and NC coasts and interior until it made the move west to central FL.

Not trying to stir anything up, but that attendance number looks pretty consistent with what I've seen in recent years.

If they were going to have a sellout, you would have thought this would have been it. An OOC game against a "regional" team they were favored against. With this loss, attendance probably won't be that good the rest of the season.

RE: Week 2 Attendance
They averaged 11,190 last year with a spread of 13,392 to 9,049.
The year prior it was 11,653 with a high of 14,441 and a low of 7,727.
In 2014, they averaged 12,886 with a high of 15,207 and a low of 8,535.

Saturday's game seems to fall in line with that average. Plus I wouldn't call Las Vegas a regional opponent for the Vandals. It's a near 15 hour drive between the two schools.

RE: Week 2 Attendance
App's attendance was really lousy considering it was the home opener and the weather was beautiful. I've heard the excuses about the opponent and the hurricane but App had about 4K more show up against SSU in 2011 and the hurricane should not have affected that many people in the Carolinas and Georgia that usually attend the games. Weak sauce.

Generally, the casual Idaho fans look at the schedule and pick the best 1-2 games to attend. Homecoming and one other game. This would have been the other game for most. Good weather to make the drive, early season optimism, and a school most have heard of. Attendance does not improve when the weather turns bad.

UNLV is a heck of a lot more regional then any SBC school for Idaho.

Oh, well in that case, I can't believe people didn't spend half a day traveling to Moscow for the game.

And that is one of the many reasons why Idaho had a very temporary home in the SBC.

Wow, that's unfortunate but understandable considering the situation.

A lot of people here were worried about the Hurricane because the media coverage. I expect it had to do with the fact the opponent was Savannah State and the hurricane.
