Week 4 PFF Grades
Scroll down to see MAC offensive and defensive players of the week:

https://twitter.com/pff_college?lang=en

3 EMU defenders......Crosby, Hoying & Calhoun, with Hoying the highest overall.

2 EMU linemen......Nielsen & Leatiota (somewhat surprising). Congrats to them, obviously doing very good individual jobs, but if the entire OLine isn't working well as a unit, I think that's why we're seeing the struggles.

4 out of the 5 Sophomores, and Leatiota a Junior.

Hoying was also the overall highest rated in college football last week, including all P5.

Actually Saquon Barkley was #1 at 97.9, and Hoying #2 at 96.1, but who's counting. Heisman front-runner and high 1st round draft pick is pretty good company!

The kid is a really good player, having a great year so far. That Hybrid spot in the 4-2-5 is the perfect position for him. Tough enough to tackle, athletic enough to cover, high football IQ and instincts to dissect run or pass quickly.

Hmmmmm, who's been saying he was a playmaker for the last 2 years? 03-wink

He was a 3-star kid. EMU was his only offer. I don't think that school, as good as it has been, traditionally pumps out D1 kids. I could wrong about that, though.

I didn't realize that Liatiota I was a junior. I assumed he was a senior because he played at a Juco. At least emu will have two or three years with this group of linemen. Still needs an infusion of more Talent though.

Yes the entire OLine returns next year, but the starters very likely to change, especially if the struggles continue. Highly likely Sow takes one of the OT spots next year, Donnellon pushes for more & more playing time with another year of experience, and I have a feeling the Rohrschneider kid improves rapidly into the 2 deep at least. STill need an All-MAC caliber OT (or 2) with 2-3 years of eligibility from the Juco ranks.
