RE: Beebe
That was a vicious hit. Knew Beebe was going to be out for a while as soon it happened. Get well soon, Chad.

Beebe
It's a shame because Beebe is such a darn good player. But, he has to look out for his health and future.

RE: Beebe
I'm now well past the age of endorsing football as a violent game that can't be changed. It's happened before (the president stepped in 110 years ago to clean it up-see this link it's a good history lesson). I am ALL FOR the tighter calling of targeting and p-fouls I have seen in many games this year, keep it coming. If you hit the guy high and he gets hurt, it's your fault and your gone---this is a big change from existing mentalities, but it's time it happens. Keep up the new rules, tighten them even, and in a few years the severity and frequency of injury will reduce, and we will just be accepting it as the new normal.

Until they can make a helmet that keeps your brain from moving inside your skull it's all just to make people feel ok about the violence

It's about getting back to tackling, not trying to blow people up. The game owes much of its popularity to the high impact collisions. But eventually they will have to get away from that. It's going to take awhile and fans won't like it. Defenders are going to have to work on keeping their head up or going even lower on tackles.

Ditto.....
Start teaching proper tackling instead of launching your body

Im pretty sure he wont quit, and that's a decision only he can make, not us

This might be the best post you ever made MaddDawg. You're right its his call, not ours. He will be missed in many ways. Not just his WR skills but his leadership, holding for FG's, punt returns. Dekalb222, I know you are a Beebe fan but from my knowledge this is only his 2nd concussion in his career and medically speaking it is the repeating of concussions that determine an athletes overall health. Let's hope and pray this young man will be fine and can finish out his Senior year. He certainly deserves that. Great kid!!! Great Player!!!

RE: Beebe
I am a big Beebe fan! I'm just worried for him it seems like he's that player that keeps getting injured. It's not just his decision by the way. His family, Doctors, NIU and coach Carey all have a say and I believe would voice their opinion to any athlete they were worried about.

He's right though, if he had bounced right up they wouldn't have assumed something was wrong and probably would not have even checked him.

The important thing is the right call was made with the targeting, no one would dispute that I would hope?
