Well said. And, in over 20 years, I can't recall you going out of your way to praise or defend a fan of an opposing team, so I think that speaks volumes.

Major already has a contract with UH that will keep him locked up for a few seasons with a huge buyout required to move.

You guys better hope Tillman has a few dollars left from buying the Rockets so he can try and keep Major at UH beyond this season. I'm sure Tony Buzbee has his checkbook already open.

Contracts, especially NCAA contracts, are broken/terminated all the time. It's only a matter of money, and I'd guess a P5 school has a lot more than UH.

Maybe FBS/D1 coaches switching to another FBS/D1 school should have to sit out a year like their players do? I suspect there is enough mega donor money to allow that to happen as well.

Sad, but true.

Even if that were to happen, Bailiff will still be at Rice.

UH is always good. I hope we play well and build on last week, but I think UH has too much for us. I'll pick UH 38 - 20. A win would be such a big upset.

To be honest I am not sure keeping Major around would be a blessing. The offense is downright anemic. We appear to have only 4 or so plays and only 1 in short yardage situations. We have no speed on offense. We only send the offense out to rest the defense when we have a lead. Sooner or later this will bite us in the rear. Arizona is awful.

This is correct. Arizona will do well to stay out of the basement of the Pac-12. UH's win is like when Rice won at Kansas - it's a win, but not a terribly impressive one in the larger scheme of things.

As I see it, this was a big game for Arizona. It was a game Rich-Rod definitely needed to win. They caught a break in that UH's first game was postponed. Usually there is a big advantage to a team having already played a game, versus one who has not. Also, they won big in their first game (albeit against a weaker opponent), so the AU fan base was engaged and fired up for the Houston game. Add all those things up, and it looked like UH getting a road win was going to be tough to do. If I'm a Cougar fan, I'm happy with the result - even if it was not the prettiest of wins. Now they get to play in front of a big crowd at home, against a weak opponent. And, if both they and Texas Tech win this coming weekend, I'm hearing their Tech game the following week will be one of the Nationally televised games.
