RE: FIU vs Alcorn
Remember these guys played with Hurricane Irma looming in the back of their minds, some players didn't even travel because they had family members they couldn't leave behind. That being said FIU still played better and made fewer mistakes than against UCF. Not to mention playing what was supposed to be their home opener in Birmingham at a neutral site.

For having 465 yards of offense the score was low but overall I saw an improved team... and at the end of it all a win is a win.

Yeah, how on earth would it be only a TD win.

Those FCS teams can be tough. 03-wink

The punt that bounced off your players head and almost turned into a turnover. Is that the improvement you're talking about? Maybe turning 1st and 10 into 2nd and 40. Or was it the big plays you kept giving up.

Either way, glad you got the win.

Not a pretty win but I know the circumstances made it tough for FIU to focus much on the game. The good news for them is Miami might be spared the worst of Irma now. FAU on the other hand may have a harder time with the storm than originally thought.

I would think Boca may be better equipped to withstand the pounding winds. I would assume construction better overall.

RE: FIU vs Alcorn
As of this morning it looks like the west coast is going to take the worse of this storm. Ft Myers which has some of the best bank snark fishing you will find in Fla. is going to get the worse. We had never been there till Western played a basketball tourney in the city a couple years ago. Now we stop over for 2 to 3 days on every trip to Ft Lauderdale. But people wise it's a lot better place to hit than dead center Miami or Ft Lauderdale

If you watched the comedic performance against UCF the previous week you would agreed that this game was an improvement. It was ugly but it was an improvement over the butt ugliness the previous week. Still a LOT of work to do with this team. 03-banghead

Appreciate y'all welcoming us into your home during this difficult period. #CUSAFamily

RE: FIU vs Alcorn
Thankfully for Miami, it looks very likely the worst of the storm will remain west of the city. The same for Boca too. They both may still get hurricane-force winds though.

In regard to the game, I would first like to thank UAB for their generosity in hosting FIU. Very kind of them. I'm not sure what to make of the game. It truly looks like this team has regressed under the new coaching staff despite returning almost all of our players from last season. I get it takes a while to learn the new system, but goodness gracious, I've seen so many bone-headed mistakes. FIU will be lucky to win 1 or 2 games in conference this season. I fear what Indiana will do to the team next week...

Regardless, a win is a win. Especially in these circumstances. Go Panthers. Stay safe everyone.

RE: FIU vs Alcorn
FIUs other sports teams seemed to enjoy themselves. Hopefully they get to return home soon with no issues.

The football will benefit from just playing this game. They seem to be playing tight and thinking too much. Maybe they can use or film room and review the tape and get in a walk through to work on the issues while they are here.
