#1 vs #3 matchup provide a lot of interest.

Other game not so much, especially on ESPN which should be a surprise with all of the viewers they keep losing month after month.

Notre Dame tied for the lowest rating ever at 1.0 and 1.5 million viewers.

RE: Alabama/FSU biggest ratings in years for opening weekend. ND tied lowest ratings.
we'll see what kind of rating ESPN gets this weekend with a very good Auburn/Clemson matchup.

I think ESPN's problem this past weekend was no really great games on ESPN. I mean what was their best Saturday game? BYU/LSU(at 930pm?).

Those aren't great games. Not the kind of games that get great ratings. Now if Auburn/Clemson gets a bad rating- you have something.

The UA/FSU game was the big attraction this weekend so it is no surprise it earned the biggest audience. If it hadn't that would have been the real surprise.

Who did ND even play?

Well, that makes a lot of sense as to why ratings were low.

tomorrow will be interesting with the ratings...
7pm 13 Auburn @ 3 Clemson, ESPN
730pm 15 Georgia @ 24 Notre Dame, NBC
730pm 5 Oklahoma @ 2 Ohio St, ABC
830pm 14 Stanford @ 6 USC, Fox

lead-ins to these may be important with getting folks hooked before the prime game.....
ESPN- women's US Open final
ABC- Pittsburgh @ Penn St starting at 330pm
Fox- Nebraska @ Oregon starting at 430pm

I think ND will bounce back from last week with Georgia as the opponent, but the OK vs OSU game will probably overshadow ND/GA game playing at the same time.
3 big OTA games and 1 big ESPN game. It will be interesting.

This is why I prefer ESPN controlling everything.

The games people will want to watch are all coming on at the same time on different channels. While the rest of the day is filled with games no one wants to watch.

Week 2 is posted. Any thoughts? Although part of the same company, ABC still brought better ratings than ESPN. Other than Ohio St vs Oklahoma, the other ABC games weren't as interesting but still had better ratings than Clemson/Auburn.
NBC bounced back as predicted with Georgia playing at ND.

For those hoping(dreaming) that FS1 will become a factor...

first 2 weeks games on FS1-
2017 average 774.7k average
2016 average 815.5k average
2015 average 804.2k average

So when you see Fox's mouthpiece say that their ratings are up by 127%, it's because last year they had all of 1 game on Big Fox and this year they've had 5 games on Big Fox.

It's interesting that the last two weeks FS2 has drawn the same as ESPNU.

FS1 has had one game in the normal Saturday block of college football and it beat ESPN. Keep pounding your chest about some late night PAC-12 game ratings.

ESPNU for 11 games- including 3 FCS games 271.6k (310k for FBS games)
FS2 for 2 games 188k

oh and FS1 getting blown out by ESPN2.
ESPN 2 avg for 6 games 1.057 million

Maryland/Texas drew 2.046 million viewers
Auburn/Clemson drew 3.361 million viewers
Louisville/UNC drew 2.263 million viewers

hell, Fresno/Alabama on ESPN2 drew 2.070 million viewers(and beat Stanford/USC on Big Fox).

But yeah, we're supposed to ignore that.

so cute that you think that FS1 and FS2 can just cherry pick their slots. Sorry but doesn't work that way. It's not ESPNU's fault that FS2 only has shown 2 games the entire season.

and even using your moronic head to head thing- the 4 games that ESPN has gone head to head with FS1-
ESPN 2.445 million avg
FS1 952k avg
