Considering where they were a few years ago, an amazing job by the new owners. Lynch just had bad timing when they began building.

HOA fee over $700? My entire note was $800. I'm glad I'm old. Couldn't afford to be young.

When the high rise was initially being built, it was about close to complete with the exception of ventilation and some window. Then it went into foreclosure and the building went untouched for a long period of time and was subjected to the elements.

Mold is really bad...once it gets in there. Hard to get rid of...they tend to wall it in too. Black is worse.

RE: Artesian Condos SoldOut
The Downtown condo market is red hot. Some condos have increased $100,000 in the last six months. I would beg to differ that the Artesian was near completion when work was stopped. To the contrary, it was wide open to the elements for a long time. We watched it get rained on for years. That is one reason I would never buy in there, besides price. And to me, the condos have a very strange energy, since they were built to maximize the number which had a river view, and it feels like you are being squeezed through very strangely-shaped spaces toward the river.

You're picking nits in that the point was it was open to the elements.

I do love the fact we take the old and make it new again. A lot of cities would have just torn down Chisca or Crosstown but Memphis knew better.

That said, I want that damn One Beale building built.

Have you been in one of the condos? If it's your cup of tea, then good. BTW, I am one of the biggest Downtown proponents you will ever find. I am moving there in a couple years. But I don't sugar coat things. I really like the original design by the Carlisles which got nixed.

Jeezus. Can you read? I was WRITING that, in fact, the condos HAD been exposed to the elements.

It's weird you guys were talking about this place. I was on the roof today. The place is in great shape. No mold. The penthouse suites are huge. Great view of the river. You would be lucky to live there.

Great news...

The only thing that worries me is that Flyer article from some years back when that building was sitting in foreclosure unfinished. It said it would have deterioration issues due to it sitting for so long exposed to the elements. Were those things fixed?

*Didnt see Saluki's post about this.

We should pool our money and get one then use it as a time share. lol

Sheesh the monthly fee goes on forever. I like to think that something gets paid off ( at least to the bank) and you do your own maintenance.
