They had no choice but to cancel the game, IMO. The optics alone of playing a game while people flee for their lives would create a PR nightmare.

Cancelling this game should have been announced several days ago...this storm is lining up to be a devastating monster. Prayers to all!

It's kind of ashame they didn't just move the game to Memphis and then we could have gone there next year. I imagine that would have been a logistical nightmare for UCF though with trying to get back to Florida.

Well, at least we get another week to heal up.

Really could not have done that. We can’t expect the UCF team to fly back to Florida in that weather and they may have been stranded here until next week. This was the correct call. I actually wanted to go to the Arkansas State game against Miami in Jonesboro, but that was canceled for travel reasons as well, which again, makes perfect sense

Let's rest up and destroy UCLA at home :-) Rip Scherer won't recognize Memphis football when they run through the tunnel.

This could possibly be one messed up FB season.. If this storm does a lot of damage it could be weeks before any Florida Schools could possibly play.. Games would have to be played at other places.. Season tickets holders could lose out on a game or 2.. What a mess.. Of course people's safety is first and foremost..

I thought they should have moved the game out of FL to start with (Atlanta or B'ham) as it made no sense flying people into FL while everyone else was fleeing. Having said that, it is JUST A GAME and this situation is much bigger than a game.

But you really cant account for the fans and workers unless you were going to close the stadium and not allow any spectators

So guys like Genard that are knicked up get another week to heal. BUT, the fella called for targeting now has to sit out the first half against UCLA

Game conditions were great, but when your evacuating many parts of the state, it just doesn't make sense to play football tonight. I've got no issues with the decision, but it could have been made earlier...

I realize the situation, but it seems wonky to have our team travel to FL and then cancel the game. I'm not sure why they couldn't have figured this out before our guys came down there. I suppose the hope was that Irma would track east of the state.
