I'm not certain on this, but think at least 17 of bcs points came right after niu 3 and outs. Not sure if there's any correlation. Just something I noticed.

But of course that problem was rooted in the conservative play calling when NIU had the ball. At some point hopefully NIU coaching will realize offense is important

Well they were deep on their own side of the field, and there was certainly no guarantee that if they threw it, that anyone would get open, or if they were, that Graham would hit them. At least I wouldn't put money on it. I still think the biggest issue was letting BC go 50 yards in a minute with no timeouts.

If you cant stay on the field though, all defenses will wear down. Defense REPEATEDLY did their job over and over, if you don't get any help from the other side, it just wont work. That's why I expect NIU defense to wear down this year and become average to poor by Week 7, offense just wont give them a breather.

Well, you're basing that on one game against the best defense we'll play all year?

When Tears went in motion it brought his defender into the box. Wimann then had two guys to block and could only get one while the other made the tackle. Look how well the rest of that play was blocked. If not for the extra defender Jones is still running. It makes you wonder what was going on there schematically.

That was the momentum swing in this game. The life went out of Huskie Stadium once BC scored and we took a knee with 30 seconds left. It was the difference in the game in my opinion. Carey took the foot off the gas too soon. Half the students never came back as did many of the fans on the west side too. Prior to that it was rocking pretty good in Huskie Stadium.

Lurry going out really changed the game. BC started targeting whomever Emory was covering with great success.
