It's not me, it's the South Carolina folks that keep pushing the issue, just like they have instigated the football and baseball games with Carolina in Charlotte.
The Chickens even scheduled State College in Charlotte this year.

Stranger things have happened. I would think Delany and Swofford being UNC grads could work something out between them at the Rams Club. One never knows...

I would suspect that FSU, Clemson, Miami & perhaps a few more would prefer the SEC along with Louisville.

You would be wrong about Clemson.
Florida State is a different animal and they would have options including moving to the SEC where they could become the Auburn of Florida.
Miami on the other hand, I believe would choose to stay with the rest of the "privates".
From what I can tell Louisville would be quite at home in the SEC.

Most of Clemsons rivals (Auburn, Georgia & South Carolina) are in the SEC so I don't think I'm wrong about them.

The SEC & B1G are both quality conferences so I think that Louisville would be "quite at home" in either but, as a football fan, I would prefer the SEC. In this scenario though with NC, Duke & the northern flank of the ACC in the B1G I would enjoy it more than the current version. Obviously my first preference would be for the ACC to avoid this scenario. The future of the ACC however doesn't lay in the hands of Louisville.

Something seems a little off to have an "SEC North" without Kentucky and Missouri in it. Perhaps "Central" would be a better fit here.

Well you can name then anything really. The geographical groupings are the main thing.

I'm more worried about preserving rivalries. If the each team has one permanent nondivision rival. Let's see
Must preserve:
Fl-Tenn Ark-aTm, UGa-Auburn Ala-LSU
Might schedule:
UK-Mizz, SC-MSU, ole-OU, OSU-V

Play a 9 game schedule:
3 divisional games are played annually.
1 permanent rival from each of the other 3 divisions are played annually.
1 rotating school from each of the other 3 divisions (and you play everyone in 3 years).

I was trying to keep the 8 game conference schedule. Two pods form a division. Winner plays the other division winner.

Your 9 game schedule doesn't quite allow for two divisions as required by NCAA rules to allow for a CCG.

If we move to a P4 I don't think it will be an issue.

If the Big 12 gets picked apart, I'm sure some conferences that didn't get to add certain schools could easily retaliate by voting against NCAA rules others want changed.

1. Texas, Tx Tech, OU and OSU all to the SEC --> 18
2. S Carolina and WVU to the ACC --> 16.5 (SEC drops to 17)
3. Kansas to the SEC --> back to 18
DONE FOREVER (unless Notre Dame joins ACC for football).

Restored rivalries, SEC:
Texas vs. A&M
Texas vs. Arkansas
OU vs. Missouri
Kansas vs. Missouri

Preserved rivalries, SEC:
Texas vs. OU
OU vs. OSU
Texas vs. Tx Tech

Restored rivalries, ACC:
S Car vs. UNC, NC State, etc. (everyone but Clemson)
WVU vs Pitt, Syracuse, BC, VT, etc.

Great for TV - therefore, they would pay for this, IMO
