The Brand of College Athletics
I want to conduct a little experiment with my AAC friends. I'm going to name two groups of schools and I want you to tell me which group stands out to you as the most famous group of college athletic "brands".

Option #1

Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, Duke, Indiana/UCLA

Option #2

Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, OU/Michigan/UT

***PLEASE VOTE IN POLL***

So 10 for option 2 and only four for option one.

I voted for option #2 since UConn was missing from option #1. If he is going to have a blueblood basketball list, he needs to include all bluebloods.

The answer is probably #2 but #1 is definitely who comes to mind first.

I want this to be personal to each voter. Vote your first inclination. For me it was very easy. I couldn't have even named the top 5 brands of college football without looking them up. The top 4 from the first group are seared into my brain - and I'm not happy about it one bit.

I suspect that if you asked random American's on the street who barely follow college athletics, what school's name popped into their head when you first mentioned college, I bet they would say North Carolina or Kentucky. I'd be willing to bet big money on it.

It comes down to what your part of the country is most interested in:

Option 1: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Great Plains

Option 2: Southeast, Southwest

Split: West Coast, Midwest

Based on overall TV eyeballs from the areas that you mentioned and factoring in the split, it looks like Option 2 wins.

Will CO|db|OOded eventually accept the fact that college football drives the bus or will we all be subjected to these types of threads until the next wave of realignment in 2024?

Wichita State's basketball resume is closer to Illinois State's than it is to UConn's. WSU fans are just too delusional to see it.

Fact: Kentucky and North Carolina football brings in more revenue to their schools than their dynastic basketball programs.
