Robert Woodard taking an unofficial visit to....
Memphis today! Pretty good news. He's ranked a 4 star. It's good because once they get players on campus to visit the chances of them landing the recruits go way up. I may be wrong on this but I think last year they had 14 on campus visits and landed 12 of the 14. Darrington was one of the two they missed on.
I like Woodard's game. He seems like a solid player.

Think we might need to start calling these on-campus unofficial visits 'Butch Pierre specials'.

Woodard is the top player in Mississippi next year. Both parents went to Mississippi State, and Woodard is 70% crystal balled to go there. Esposito is primary. Coincidentally, Pierre is also a Mississippi State grad.

Odds that Pierre ends up at Mississippi State next year? Do they have a crystal ball for that?

Interesting, a good thread about a solid recruit gets derailed at #4 and 5.

Definitely a possibility but so is an asteroid crashing into the earth.

Nice to have him on campus, but this one is an uphill battle. And the hill is steep. We've been on him for a while. But basketball recruits out of MS tend to string us along then break our hearts.

Would love to have him, though. Dude sounds like he can play.

I've seen this too, but you've gotta give it a shot. Great recruit who is interested. At least it shows to the miserables that Tubby is working hard.

Hard work (assuming it is actually performed) is a given from a multi-million dollar paid coach and as learned from the last coach, it takes more than hard work for success. It takes achieving results. The Woodard visit is a favorable factor for success, but it will not be fulfilled unless he signs. There is no prize for second place in recruiting.
