All the more reason to require an ID and up-to-date voter registration information because they may no longer reside in the districts they are voting for. I can drive three miles in either direction once I leave my subdivision and be in a totally different county council, state house and state senate district each way.

Quote:Some people don't even have drivers licenses.

I want to know how people function in today's age without some form of ID. I'm willing to bet that in an average week I'm showing somebody my ID at least 5-6 times.......at the bank, buying beer, cashing a check. How in the hell does someone get through life today without some form of ID? Hell...in most states you have to have an ID to buy over-the-counter cold medicine!

Oh and you have to have some sort of official government ID to receive government benefits. Guess that shoots a huge hole in the side of "the poor don;t have ID" narrative.

Quote:Are the taxpayers going to pay them for lost wages as they spend 1 full day getting a new id every time they move to comply with the law? While white property owners don't have to do this as often, due to the fact that they're wealthier and own their own homes.

No, just like the taxpayers don't pay anybody else when they lose wages to fulfill their civic duty.

A photo id form an old address and a bill from a new address would suffice, that's how provisional balloting works.

But if it helps ease your mind, at all, Americans as a whole are moving at historically low rates. And, again to help ease your mind a bit, the average difference between races when it comes to moves in a year is like 2-4% tops.

"Ten percent of non-Hispanic white Americans moved between 2012 and 2013, compared to 13 percent of Asian-Americans, 13 percent of Hispanics and 14 percent of African-Americans."

Quote:have to spend more to vote!

Citation? Or are you operating under the assumption that someone with an ID from an old address and a piece of mail from a new address can't vote?

Quote:Lets stop voter registration efforts for minorities!

Non-sequiter

Quote:Lets also remove their ability to vote through racist gerrymandering

Do you want to form congressional districts which protect "minority" seats or don't you? You cant rig district A without forcing changes the other way on districts b and c

everybody in my neighborhood has an id I live in a latino and black neighborhood.

sure, lets.

That's exactly the whole point of Voter ID laws. How long before you support poll taxes for black persons? Of course this is, in effect a poll tax.

How racist can somebody be?

Gerrymandering is so bad in Texas that a portion of El Paso is represented by a representative in San Antonio over 500 miles away.

I asked the same earlier and he ignored it. Expect the same this time because he doesn't have a talking point readily available.

So, you are saying minorities are too stupid to go to the local DMV to get a license, very very racist of you.

Damn, beat me to it. If minorities only realized how poor and dumb white liberals thought they were.

At least we have finally found a tax that liberals oppose. It was a long search that many thought was futile.

This was a big deal in NC. Never met one non agenda driven person who had a problem with it. Most rank and file democrats think it's dumb we don't ask for ID.
