Pappy's Predictions - #10
#10 - Texas State

POSITIVES: Danny Kaspar. He is a good coach. He finally got his system in place at TSU and was rewarded with a 22-win season, including two wins in the CIT. Two solid starters return, including second-leading scorer Nijal Pearson and blocks leader Immanuel King. And the plus for any rebuilding/reloading project here is that because Kaspar's teams play very tough defense, they always have something upon which to build. This was not a good shooting team, but two of their better 3-point gunners do return in Pearson and Tyler Blount.

NEGATIVES: A trio of 6-8 players are all the size they have, which could be enough. Kavin Gilder-Tilbury was their leading scorer and an excellent shooter, and he will be hard to replace. He was also one of their main rebounders. Kaspar's teams have not been noted for their shooting so far in his stay in the SBC, and last year was no exception.

Danny Kaspar seems to be the sort of coach who relies on a system and the faces of the players who come and go within it are not as critical as those programs where high-flying talent is at a premium. For that reason, this prediction could easily be too low.
