FIU and Alcorn ought to go to Jonesboro. It's a bus ride for Alcorn. Stadium is ready, concessions stocked, security, parking attendants, and concession workers already contracted.

So especially with UCF won't be an issue at all playing on Friday night. Florida on Saturday plays at 730pm. That'll be something to kind of watch I suppose- although I think the models recently have had it going further and further east.

I agree with your logic, but it comes across as calm and analytical - a good thing to be when using logic, btw! But, the situation on the ground in Florida is one of panic and high alert, it's emotional, so expect more games to move or be canceled, regardless of what the dispassionate computer models say.

Heck, I'm working on a research project with a professor at USF-Sarasota, he lives in Bradenton, Florida. We were supposed to have a conference call early Friday, but that's been cancelled because his wife insists they evacuate the state now. That's how things are.

Thank goodnesss. It makes me so angry when people stick around during hurricanes for no reason aside from just being stubborn. If you have family outside of Florida you should be leaving by Friday regardless of what happens. It puts an extreme strain on rescue workers when resources are spent on people who could have been gone.

Northern Colorado-Florida moved up to Noon ET kickoff per https://twitter.com/pat_dooley/status/90...9518895104

No word on TV plans, but I assume SEC Network would still carry it.

FIU and Alcorn agree to play in Birmingham. So 6 out of 7 Florida schools play this weekend.

Timing on this pretty good for games to not get cancelled. 1 day later and yeah huge issues.

If that's the situation, I expect more cancels and moves. Fans far away from danger may be frustrated, but no decision maker will ever get fired for erring on side of caution and moving or canceling a game. But if he counts on a hurricane arriving one day later and it arrives one day sooner and there is a massive mess or worse, people get injured because game wasn't canceled, his head will roll immediately plus be pilloried in the media, etc.

This is a huge problem in America today. Decision makers SHOULD get fired for "erring on the side of caution" when the risk is practically non-existent. They waste a huge amount of time and money and oftentimes they actually put more people in danger. Case in point: Miami's decision to cancel their game at Arkansas State.

Players board an airplane. Fly 1000 miles to Memphis. Spend the night. Play a game. Add a night in Memphis or Jonesboro.
Hurricane does or doesn't make landfall on Sunday. Miami assesses the situation and makes a decision about what to do next, but in the meantime they are 1000 miles away from danger.

Not catching your logic.

Can't play the UCF game in Memphis this weekend. The annual Southern Heritage Classic is being played at the Liberty Bowl.

The logic is, the players families homes are about to be destroyed in another potential Hurricane Andrew. And we are worried about a football game? Priorities.........

I read that as "moved to 1215". I guess that's one way to avoid playing it. And if you somehow make it there, don't take the wrong position on the Magna Carta around the wrong people.
