RE: Week 2 Sunbelt Projections!
Bama State scored only 6 points, but put up nearly 400 yards of offense. The have some speed, albeit SWAC speed.
Troy should win this one comfortably. I'd say 42-14 or something like that.

So I'm giving ULM a punchers chance, a slim one, but not counting them completely out.
I think that's fair. FSU's new quarterback is a freshman...talented, of course, but how will he do in a game right now? He only did one series against Alabama and it was just hand-offs at the end of the game. I just hope we can put on a good show and come home in good shape.

RE: Week 2 Sunbelt Projections!
Here's what I'm going with.
2010 - Re-introduced the TO to Statesboro and opened with Savannah St. Then got beat by Navy while only amassing 109 total yards. Came back the next week and beat Coastal Carolina 43-26. Ended the season with 10 wins.
2015 - Due to Ellison's Suspension a very timid Favian Upshaw and a half-way green OL got blanked by a very fast WVU defense 44-0. Came back the next week and beat an extremely hyped, PJ Fleck coached, WMU team 43-17. Ended the season with 9 wins.
2017 - Re-introducing true TO concepts to a young OL and a R-Fr QB we got annihilated by a top 12 ranked Auburn team to the tune of 78 total yards. Come back the next week and beat a decent FCS team in UNH, 43-10. Ends the season with 8 (or 9) wins.

RE: Week 2 Sunbelt Projections!
#10 Oklahoma State @ South Alabama
Ok State Wins by 24+
This is the kind of game that scares me. I hate pass-happy teams, especially when they're good. If we're severely overmatched by their receivers and don't get any pressure on the qb, this could be the game I've been dreading. Then again, I think Ole Miss would give OSU all they could handle, so this might not be too bad. Sorry to sound so pessimistic.
Alabama State @ Troy
Troy wins by 17
Not to say that Troy's not better than that, but I just see this as a "let's get this over" game.
Texas State @ Colorado
Colorado Wins by 28
Sounds about right.
#18 Miami @ Arkansas State
Miami wins by 10
Not saying that I don't hope it's the other way around, but I'll go with the odds.
Savannah State @ Appalachian State
Appalachian State Wins by 50+
At least 50 if they feel like it.
Louisiana @ Tulsa
Louisiana by 6
I say the Cajuns pull the mild upset.
New Hampshire @ Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern Wins by 28
Haven't watched GS much, but I think they roll.
Louisiana Monroe @ #3 Florida State
Florida State Wins by 10
Much closer than people think with FSU's qb injury. Seminoles hit the panic button but win by 10.
UNLV @ Idaho
Idaho Wins by 21
New Mexico State @ New Mexico
New Mexico State Wins by 3
Lots of people betting on NMSU and the points. I'll take the win.

I don't think Alabama State will be able to get 38 points in one half

Yeah.....I'm not feeling this one at all. I'm surprised by the confidence in this thread. I'm thinking we get thumped.

It did warm my heart a little to hear Miami fans talk about how this will be a far tougher game than App State...
But yeah, Canes cover. Vegas giving us much props for nearly beating Nebraska. Too much

The confidence in Idaho is welcomed. I have been to many of these types of games for the Vandals. I say this is going to be a dog fight. Idaho 28, UNLV 25.

Anderson said they would have to play perfect to win, but did add that they can.
Anderson calling plays is a huge big plus.

UNLV was 45 point favorites last week but still lost to Howard. It was the biggest college football upset of all time. Howard is FCS, but they're not even good FCS. Since 2001 (the data I have available) they've not once finished in the top half of FCS. In the last 10 years they've finished in the bottom 10% of all FCS teams 5 times, including 2015 and 2016. Unless Idaho plays like crap, I think the Vandals take this game quite handily. That is unless UNLV plays out of its mind by way of motivation from the Howard loss.

OSU will score lots of points. I doubt USA can keep pace.
Alabama State @ Troy
Troy wins by 45
I think Troy can pretty much name the score.
Texas State @ Colorado
Colorado Wins by 30
Colorado is pretty good. Texas State is............not.
Savannah State @ Appalachian State
Appalachian State Wins by 40
App will likely shut down SSU's offense completely and can score a lot. Satterfield will give lots of work to the backups and hold the score down.
Louisiana @ Tulsa
Tulsa by 3
Cajuns could win this one but not likely on the road.
New Hampshire @ Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern Wins by 17
GS was pitiful on offense in week one against a strong SEC unit. They will win going away but not in blowout fashion.
Louisiana Monroe @ #3 Florida State
Florida State Wins 28
Seminoles defense is pretty darn good, holding Bama under 300 yards. I would expect them to do the same against Monroe and even with a backup QB they will win fairly easily.
UNLV @ Idaho
Idaho Wins by 14
UNLV plays a lot better this week but Idaho's offense will put up some big numbers against that D.
New Mexico State @ New Mexico
New Mexico State Wins by 7
I though NMSU looked pretty darn good last week and hope they carry some offensive momentum into this rivalry game. Upset special.

Not saying the situations are exactly alike, but I just watched Mike Leach lose 2 straight season-openers to Big Sky schools and then recover and have pretty good seasons beating Pac 12 competition. Strange things happen in season openers, and it's not like there's a big talent gap at play on Saturday. UNLV will either come out broken or super-motivated.

Howard is Savannah State/Campbell bad. They may be a hair better than those squads, but they are within striking distance of being in that category.
Or so they were...
They were 113th in FCS to start the season.

They have Cam Newton's smaller, younger brother. It seems the talent may still be there despite is relatively diminutive stature.
